Buying photo editing software is not a good investment unless photo editing/composition is a hobby that you know you'll keep for a long time, or you plan on going professional.
Stuff's just overpriced.
But what I use is GIMP, it's pretty good and comparable to photoshop, but in the filters department, it's not as proficient, but you can always find filters that other people have coded via script-fu. There's also Paint.NET, I haven't tried it yet but from what I've heard from other people is that it's slightly less powerful then GIMP but the interface is slightly easier to use. Really, image editors are pretty much the same. If you learn how to use one, then you can probably use every other one.
GIMP is the best free photo manipulating software. But if you don't care you could always pirate and get photoshop.
Also, I wouldn't consider spending $130 on shoes wasting money. I spend that much on every pair of shoes.
I think Amazifier is the best. I use Paint.net/PhotoScape/Irfanview as well, but I like the nice UI in Amazifier and its definitely easier. It’s a free one like Paint.net and PhotoScape but Amazifier is far more simple and a has real cool look and feel. You can download it on here - www.amazifier.com.
I think adobe photoshop cs5 portable is free and this is best photo editing software. I also use photoshop cs5 portable and it's working good. in this software you will edit all image formate and crate jpg, gif, bmp, etc. now adobe photoshop cs5 is best software for my side.
Gimp, is free...
But i would go and download photoshop from torrent, it's the best photo editing software ever made.
I know you will say "bah thats illegaly" etc., but 70% of its users have pirated versions :biggrin.gif:
