Hello, I've been a moderator on my regular server for three or four months now and am looking forward to checking out the Voxel Box. These pictures are from the city that has been my project on my other server:
-snip-
Everything you see there was terraformed and built legitimately over the course of three or four months.
I think i may have been baned for"moving to fast" all i was doing was clicking the feather/fly button reapeatedly i would like to get the bann repealed plz thank you

name: Londinium
location: preferably below the small lake / river around -1500 2500, but could be about anywhere with water that doesn't go below z=50
I would like to build an underground futuristic city. The basic layout would involve a large cavern below a body of water and over a pool of lava. A small central building would act as a geothermal power plant providing heat and light for the rest of the city. The rest of the city would be housed in rings lining the cavern walls.
a smaller secondary cavern would serve as a landing pad/docking bay allowing for aircraft to land with minimal impact on the world surface.
materials:
heavy use of obsidian , bedrock iron stone half steps and glass.

Just log back on. You are not banned. That is an automated message from Bukkit for anybody moving faster than 10 blocks per tick. It's a fun "feature" they added, because apparently, minecraft MOD platforms don't encourage the making of MODS anymore...

Town Proposal
I have already laid down some work and would like to get official approval for this:
Basically, the town is an outpost dedicated completly to science. If it isn't techy, it isn't built. The outpost is being made on the islands around X: -160, Z: -400. I currently have four people building the outpost : Me(l337Ninja), minuseven, RidiculousCash, and NeutronRocks
Building Theme and Common Blocks
The theme of the outpost is science and exploration. We employ a lot of bedrock-white into our builds to give them a scientific-sanitary look. We try to maintain a light-colored building material, so that our builds don't vary too much. Ships are either the stereotype wooden ones or clay is sometimes used in the ships. Obsidian is another key component although its mostly used for flooring.
Citizens
We have made a deal with srrwb's Atlantis city and Dobacrafter's underwater city that if we all become official, we will create a travel triangle between us. We are also trying to get a travel system set up between Rhodan and the outpost. atm there are 10 completed or currently being constructed builds in the outpost:
RidiculousCash's Office Complex and possibly serving as a housing district
Minuseven's Seventure Science HQ building.
NeutronRocks's Aerodynamics and Aerial Testing Facility (a wind tunnel site) [he needs to get started on it already]
l337Ninja's Atlantis-class submarine, the RSS Omega (a 1:1 scale replica from the movie "Atlantis: The Lost Empire")
Minuseven's and l337Ninja's Stadium of 3P1(/\/3$$
l337Ninja's airport (no name yet)
RidiculousCash's Reshiram statue (Reshiram is our mascot)
l337Ninja's Astronomicon(yes, i got the name from DoW) a giant observatory
l337Ninja's Satellite Station

There are already quite a few projects going on in the Aerios area - you're going to have to check with Nemesis to see if he wants anything else popping up there. I believe Hammy also has his project fairly close in the area, and Riv if I'm not mistaken.
Hi, Air here to request a build location on the area of relatively flat land at
-3158, 598
I am planning on building a castle type thing that could develop into a small city if there is space. I'm also currently working on this project on my own server So i can post a screenshot or two from there although it will be in a Doku texture pack but on your server it will be with your VB textpack.
It will be complete with a sizeable throne room, dining room, kitchen, ball room, library, war room, bar, garden, cellar, and rooms for the guest at this point. There will be plenty more ideas flowing in i'm sure.
This is the Throne roof from the front left side under a blazer.
Ok, someone requested that I post this, after seeing my rather dissapointing airship at the Daro.
I realise that there is not much variety in the materials uses but you must realise that this was built on a legit server. It took a LONG time to get that much iron.
I hope this works for you, I am posting this from my iPhone.
you should use the VB texture pack the whole time your building this, because when you change from duko over you'll find that the materials won't match or make sense, then you will have to basically redo the textures picked.
I'm sorry for my epic rage quit last night. The situation with the guest and the homophobic/ "gay = funny" comment bothered me a lot and rather than just listening to what I had to say and apologizing, he kept asking me if I was gay over and over which had nothing to do with it. Rather than continue to get heated, I decided leaving and calming down was in the best interest of myself and those on the server. I would love to not be bothered by randoms on the internet bu that upset me. I'm sorry if I caused any problems or my behavior affected anyone online at the time negatively.
No worries, we all need some space sometimes, and it's can certainly be easier to get a breath of fresh air outside Pangea!
The individual and his comments were summarily squashed by our beloved KupoKupo. I am only sorry I didn't get to the jerk(s) in question sooner, I was tabbed out at the time.

Thanks plus, I appreciate it. Kupo was with me from the beginning and I felt happy to have her support, so no worries about you being tabbed out. :smile.gif:

The problem you have with this build is that everything is running off straight diagonal lines for your curves in the structure, just making it look boxy all around. Vehicles are extremely hard to get whitelisted for here because as I've always said, we compare them to what we can do already on the server (in terms of how well we can design them). We're never adverse to any new type of vehicle - but the fact is, the design standards are pretty uniform in our builds (good curves, scale, shapes we can easily discern).
The huge bedrock border walls of Pangea are godawful ugly, and building within render distance from them is essentially not an option. I propose that we get rid of them, replace them with a very low profile simple fence or something to that effect at the actual border squares, and then have blank ocean stretching out beyond that. The actual functional border that pushes you back would remain in the same place.
This would allow people to settle up to the border region without eyesores, effectively increasing the total area of pangea open to builds by 12% without actually increasing memory or disk space requirements or changing the cartograph at all.

Town Proposal:
A small Western themed town, as seen in numerous western movies.
I'm thinking it should feature a rail station, postal office, grocer, saloon, jail and some houses. Nothing extraordinarily big.
Now with a build this classic, I fear there might be something akin hiding somewhere in the wast wonderful world of VoxelBox, but so far I haven't been able to find one. Correct me if I'm wrong.
The city should preferably be founded in a deserty-ish area and along a MetroVox line if possible (otherwise I could make a local railsystem leading from nowhere to nowhere - just for the visual effect.)
Materials would very much be limited to wooden stuff used in various ways.
Best regards
Cubebrothers
thats an idea I've been throwing around for awhile myself - you're going to have to give me some coords to work with though right now, we can make anything desertlike, and I'd be happy to help get this set up for a project once you find an area you like

Yeah I know that. That is what I am planning on doing. This is just a little to show the idea of what i am going to do.
Just waiting on an Admin to clear me for land.
Jimmy! Long time no see!

I always love it with there's a holiday sqaure event in Sealth! I will check that out tonight!
