First you have to get one of your builds approved by an admin to become a member read the wiki. www.voxelbox.com will take you there.
Uh, yeah... the wiki had actually suggested I make a forum post here as well as submitting a build, but ok
Hello all, I've made a new topic about my hoping-to-soon-to-be-town on the Voxel Box server. The link is here: Shuicheng City And I would prefer if you left any questions or comments there but I will be checking this topic as well for any replies on my original post about the proposal at the bottom of page 107. On this new thread I will be posting updates on the practice ship I'm building on my private server so people can see what it looks like and just to provide more information for any admins to see if they're interested in the idea. Please visit the topic. Thanks.
Please Help! I have some great ideas for buildings, and I would really like to see the server. I see that at the title of this topic, it clearly states "OPEN TO GUESTS!." and at twitter you have recently said "guests are regularly admitted to the server..." I have read the rules, and understand them. It is wednsday at my location. I have tried repeatedly through-out the week, to obtain the server ip from the faq at the wiki. Is there something I am missing? If this is some kind of technical problem on my part I apologise for the inconvenience. I have read the terms of service, and I have tried to get the ip, but everytime I try it says that the ip is only available during guest hours. Can you please explain this to me?

The IP is always on the wiki, we don't change it and we don't take it off at any time.
I do not understand. The guest hours are described as "often monday through thursday". I imagine that this is what "applicable hours" means. The latest tweet on this said "guests are regularly admitted...". I am assuming lots of things here, but I made the assumption that "regularly admitted" meant that monday through thurday -7 GMT time non-members would have access to the server. Through-out the week I have attempted to get the ip to visit the server during this time. I do not see how someone is supposed to go about joining the server at these times if the ip is unavailable. explain please.
I feel pretty dumb. Well, I wanted to finally get on the server, and try to build something, but internal exception java.net.sockettimeoutexception read timed out.
O_O I feel as though it may be a long time before I end up actually playing on this server.
But I refuse to give up!I will continue to look elsewhere for some advice on this error.
Hey guys at the Voxelbox, I am planning to use the deep space texture pack created by KupoKupo for a large project of my own, was wondering if a purple, smooth, almost metallic block could be added to it? It would be a good contributor to the already great texture pack and help me and other with projects :smile.gif:
PS: I'm hoping this is the right way to contact KupoKupo by posting on this thread but if not you could tell me otherwise :tongue.gif:

First off, plusnine is the creator of the Deep Space texture pack. KupoKupo is developing a separate pack for 3D sculptures.
Secondly, the Deep Space pack is all but finalized. I doubt any new textures will be added, with the exception of those made for the Red Planet. As such, while requests were being considered back in development, they will now be almost certainly trashed.
I suggest you make your own texture if you wish to have this build reach completion.

Thanks for the reply and no probs, was just a suggestion :tongue.gif:

I just went to the FAQ and found the address in under ten seconds... Hint: you could easily find it and log on even if you were 100% blind to all non-bolded text.

Przerwap, upon looking at some code I had just written: "...Gav... That's not how programming works."
So I've been walking around the server for a bit, and have built several buildings in towns. So now I would like to start a town of my own.
So here is my proposal:
The town would be located on the continent Venificus at the coordinates -2,424, 2502. I've searched the area for any nearby towns and the closest one I could find was Yuudai, which is out of the draw distance and on the other side of some large mountains.
The style of architecture in my town would be rustic, using different dark wood blocks and stone blocks such as cobblestone and moss stone. Most of the roofs would use the thatched roof. But to make the buildings different from the standard rustic style, there would be lots of vegetation growing on the buildings such as vines and ivy. The town would be in a heavily wooded environment, which means that along with vegetation on structures, there would be lots of vegetation in and around the town.
On the hills are where most of the houses would be located. There would be several terraces on the hillside so that builders would be building on a flat surface rather than on the steep hillside. At the top of the hill is where the rest of the houses would be, and there would also be a park.
So, that is my town proposal! Hope you guys like the idea.

Hello, I would like to propose a new town at 800,-100, north of Perosa and south-east of Aerios.
The main blocks would be cobblestone, sandstone, stone slabs, logs and dark wood, like in these pictures here. Most buildings would be made out of sandstone and cobblestone but some would be made from sandstone and logs. The town would be fairly built up.
There would most likely be a museum, an inn/hotel, a train station, a forum/marketplace, a bridge, stores, restaurants and houses. Most of the houses would be built on a hill and the stores would be located on the main street.
I'm still not sure about what i'll call the town. I'm thinking Ranomdale.

he means your still a guest, which means you cannot start towns and other projects until you successfully become whitelised.
VoxelTronix:
With VoxelTronix, the hits just keep on comin'.

I have been getting this since monday. What is this? How do I get the ip? I hope I am not missing something obvious.
You sir, are a moron.
Bright Purple BOLDED text
You get hints no more.
PERHAPS YOU SHOULD LOOK UP INFORMATION ON DOMAIN NAME SYSTEMS.

The area I am looking to build my town on is on the coast, but not far inland are some hills. On the coast I am looking to make a pier similar to this (but the buildings would be rustic style): http://images.businessweek.com/ss/08/05/0523_expensive_housing/image/portofino_harbor-wiki.jpg
The waterfront area would be the shopping district of the town.
