OK, so my town proposal is in Lemuria, which, on the wiki, states it is open for members to develop in as soon as Deep Space opened.
The Cords are 3200, -4480, which is close to New Voxel, but Expansions to this city will take place in the east,so no need to worry about it clashing with NV.
The BACKUP cords are 3040, -5440
The town's center will be focused on several large buildings, but the Cathedral will be the focus. There will be walls surrounding the city, and expansion areas will branch out tords the east. I will Be building in the Main Styles of Gothic, Gothic Revival, Carpenter Gothic, Brick Gothic, and Modern Gothic ; plus there will be secondary styles such as Russian, Victorian, Baroque, and Renaissance thrown in. But the main style of the Town Will be Gothic. There will be two main types of housing that branch off into different categories. These are the Towers and the SmallChurch. The Towers are builds that spiral into the sky, and the Smallchurch are builds that can be made on platforms attached to the towers, or on the ground below. Here is the order of my Progress that will be made on the town:
1. Cathedral
2. Walls and the Castle
3. The Palace
4. Houses
5. Guild Meeting Halls
6. Collages, schools, Government Buildings,Town Halls, Hotels, Inns,Taverns, Universities, Libraries, Factories, Office Buildings (May hit a San-Francisco Style Street corner Style),Windmills, Casinos, Greenhouses, Clubs, Shopping Malls, Flea Markets, etc.
The Time Period will be Post Modern, allowing me to achieve a wide range of blocks without going to fully technological. If you Want, I can build the Cathedral first, and then you could either approve or disallow the idea.
And Yes, i know Gothic requires a huge amount of Detail in its builds.
I am eager to hear your responses, as I feel I need to reconcile the Past Projects I have failed to complete on this server.
Let me know what you think and get back to me either in-game or on the fourms.
Proud Member of the VoxelBox Server
I Support a ton of mods and ideas, and I would like if They were added into the game as options that can be turned on or off. I also support a ton of texture packs. I am currently making a full list. (Can help people modding)
Hi, I'm Fargle and I was trying to familiarise myself with the rules etc before trying to join next time you were accepting guests. I managed to get through most of the basics but unfortunately your Wiki now seems to be 404'ing and I can't finish.
Do you have an alternative host for the information? If not, will Google Cache'd copies of the pages suffice? I want to make sure I'm not going to be operating under outdated information.
cached copies should be fine, its not like we fundamentally change rules every week. :tongue.gif: by the way I hate these automatic smilies.
Hi this is Bobzilla99 and i would like to build a city in the Voxelbox at coordinates (-1440, -3200).
I want to build a Victorian style city. Parts of the city would be floating due to radiation pockets in the ground.
Umm - Reaper here. I'd like to request a ice-breaker for Las Pasos. The reason for this is because with Notch's new code - the whole ocean next to me has frozen over so yeahh...any help would be much appreciated - Reaper..
P.S I would make this myself, but I don't really know how to make ice-breakers. I only know how to make ships.
The hunt is simple treasure hunt style game that will test your knowledge of the server, and raw searching abilities.
Scattered around all of Yarg are signs stating "You have found the hunt.", and then providing a clue. You must follow this string of clues to bring you to your final destination and reward.
In exactly Ten hours, I will release the first Clue. This clue is easy, as are the first few sites. However, the trail will quickly grow harder, and you will soon have to collaborate with others in hopes of being the team to fine the reward first.
If you find one of the more open air "You have found the hunt" signs, you will often see these will make no sense. This is in part because you must REMEMBER the old locations of past clues!
The Voxelwiki could be a useful reference in some cases, but other times you must have toured the server first. Please note that all the signs are in a significant builds marked on the map, and require no removal of blocks to find. In fact, besides a door or two, even a guest could technically participate in the Treasure hunt.
I will post the first Clue here, on the Voxelwiki, and speak it in ventrillo. Good Luck to all.
EDIT: The Hunt begins. Search the Lord of all Guestdom.
The first clue to the hunt shall now be told. Please remember the following:
'Use the Map and Voxelwiki as help. Occasionally they will point you to the answer. (Sometimes less directly)'
'Please do not destroy the clues. The hunt is a long term game that can be played by anyone who finds out the first clue. Keep in mind future participates.'
'If you stumble upon a clue, but do not understand it, you likely need to find another one first.'
'Having a sniper or higher to teleport you around could be helpful, but still expect most of your time spent actually searching for the clue.'
'All the sites are on yarg, or in the general vicinity or yarg. You will never have to cross continents.'
'And finally, there are thirteen sites in total. There is a prize at the end of the trail, but the first person(s) to find it may also get a prize. This prize will not be given out if too many people discover it at once (four or more).'
This game is for FUN, and does not have to be done immediately. You will enjoy discovering the clues yourself as much as it would be to partake in a group run.
To be the first to find the final clue, send me a PM over the forums with the names of the thirteen locations, or message me ingame, in order. It is advisable to note them down while playing, as often you need to refer to back to them anyway.
-Best of luck-
The first clue is: Search the Lord of all Guestdom.
So if it is open to guests? How do you actually get the IP adress? I agreed ti the terms of service but then no IP was given. I seriously suggest you update your Wiki to actually have some useful information in it. Also can I ask why no IP is given?
YOU ARE INCORRECT. THE SERVER IP IS LISTED ON THE WIKI PAST THE TERMS OF SERVICE AND IS IN BOLD FONT. I SUGGEST YOU READ IT AGAIN BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO CORRECT ME.
Begging your apologies, almighty One. But it isn't... It just says (in block capitals) Guest access is enabled only during applicable hours.
"By connecting your Minecraft client to ____________, you agree to the Terms of Service."
Dear Barbernator, what do you think that means? Connecting your Minecraft client to whatever is listed where I placed the "_______"? Do you think that is the IP? Why don;t you try it and stop asking stupid questions? Thanks!
Alright, I want to start on a residential neighborhood in New Voxel, because there are like...no homes. More of a suburban neighborhood in the north, i think. Anyway, idk who is the person to ask so i'm posting here.
I wish there were downloads of all the maps in the OP. I really want to walk around Las Torres
the maps aren't open for download, but you can get on the server, tour and build a bit, or you can browse the wiki ("www.voxelwiki.com" highly recommended for aspiring guests).
New Town Proposal!
I have a new idea for a town that I have already done some extensive planning on. I'm planning on calling it Shuicheng (it means "water city" in traditional Chinese). It would be a very, very, very large wooden (mostly) sailing ship with an asian build style. I found two reference images to look at and based some very specific blueprints on. I want to construct this with a medium to large sized town on it and I know I have enough room to do so. I would build the initial ship mostly myself but possibly with BobbyFeta who is a fellow shipbuilder and specializes in the asian style. He has already agreed to help build the town/city (hopefully) on top however I also hope to recruit BogartMurrell with this as well. The ship would be modeled after the Chinese style "treasure ships" from the early 1400's. Specifically, the flagship of the Chinese navy, commanded by the legendary explorer and fleet admiral Zheng He (also known as Cheng Ho). The ship would be 136 blocks from bow to stern and 50 blocks at it's widest point. This is built to scale seeing as how a Minecraft block is approximately 1 cubic meter. There would be nine masts with yellow sails, as shown in one of the reference images below, the highest of which being 58 blocks high. At it's highest point, the ship would be 78 blocks from the bottom of the keel to the tip of the highest mast. I have not finalized any of my plans for the city itself but I have many ideas about it and between the other two builders (hopefully not one) and I, we will be able to construct something easily on the fly. I will include my reference images below.
This is the one I have based all of the coloring and detailing off of.
This is a small scale model of one in a mall in Dubai next to a small scale model of the ship Christopher Columbus sailed on to show the amazing size of these vessels.
And finally, here is the link to my main blueprint I have a few others but they are just rough drafts of things like parabolas for the main hull and things like that. I had to upload this to photobucket because this was short notice. Also, I don't think you can really tell but the little dots and lines are every measurement for every single line on the entire ship. Sorry for the terrible quality, as I had to take the picture with my cell phone and e-mail it to myself. http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z393/JelloBeatDown/?action=view¤t=2.jpg
Edit: I have now created a new thread solely for the building process of this ship where I provide screenshots. Linkity Clickity
Hello!
I just wanted to cover all of the bases here by submitting an "town" idea. The losing team of the summer vacation build off is the base of this "town." Slayer, SpecterCody and I would like to continue this project here:
Building West (as the arrow shows).
I know that plusnine liked the idea of continuing it, and Slayer said that Kupo is willing to paste the build for us.
Just wanted to put it here so it can officially begin.
jello, from experience with builds where you build the town on the ocean, then allow people to build on your sea structure, I suggest you make the ship wider than 50. my underwater district is aprox. 50 wide give or take a few blocks and in order to make up for the small width you will need a long length, I am slightly afraid that with masts and other ship nessesary parts will take up more space than you think and build space will become rather tight. I suggest you make it wider lest you end up with too small of an area for people to build on, something like 70 wide would most likely be more accommodating.
if you plan to not let people build structures on the ship then disregard this. : )

Thanks for the suggestion Doba but I've been building it on my private server and let me tell you, there is more than enough room to build something the size of Hucheng city on here, it is ridiculous. I'll post a new reply to my last post probably sometime tomorrow or the day after that with screenshots so people can get a feeling for the size of it. And the reason I'm submitting this as a town idea is because I actually do plan to build a city the size of Hucheng on here. I can't wait to finish this practice build and post some screenshots of it.

Reminds me of Pentigan's Voxonoid mining outpost. Foreman Steve disappeared, and there was a sign that said "They have found me-Foreman Steve"
