While we're waiting, I think now would be a great time for everyone to voice their feedback and suggestions. I really want to know what you think about certain rules and features. I'd also like to hear any ideas you have and may want do be done in the server. I want to work with all of you the best way I can to improve the server for everyone as a whole. So think about some things and lets hear it.
*Ideas*
Free build area for build-off contests. Winner gets a prize. Everyone that participates and thoroughly puts effort into their work, will have their project spread across the map using MCEDIT or Cuboid as a monument or as a map marker for dungeons used in future events.
Tournament area for various games the community can particpate in:
Spleef courts, using water, lava or monsters under the court.
Duel arenas where players can bet or participate in PVE and PVP matches.
Block Ball court (This is a mod that creates a sort of hocket match)
Gravel dig-off where teams face off in a dig the most gravel from the cuboid areas. Winner gets a prize.
Spawn area Tele Hub center
The teleporter hub center with sections separated based upon Town, Clan, Biome, and event areas. Personal home teleporters are not allowed.
*As a sink for the economy, all towns and clans must purchase a teleporter spot. The cost is 15 diamonds each teleporter. For a personal section dedicated to different parts of your town or clan, the cost is 30 diamonds+ 15 per teleporter. I don't do this to be mean, I want to try and find ways to sink the economy and get the barter system used more.*

Like you said before, don't think economy will work so well with dupe bug and infinite repair for tools. However if you want a sink why not charge rent for [cuboid x area] or something so as to force bigger clans to pay more and as an ongoing cost rather than a one off purchase.
Spleef courts and free build could all work, like free build telehub or spleef court comps :smile.gif: How about a pig hunting contest or something silly?

Consists of a stadium like arena with a Colosseum seating style design. In the middle is a block of land that is sloped and about 20-30 blocks long and 20 blocks high at one end, the arena has terraces with obstacles down them like poles, cacti and maybe a small lava pit here and there. Contestants jump on their pigs at the top of the hill and the gates are opened. Contestants race down the slope tot he bottom, and first down wins.
Much Similar,
White Water Rafting Arena
Could consist of two identical tracks, of one wide track where on the wide track its just a race to the bottom, with obstacles, whirlpools and maybe small cave systems. On the smaller tracks that are identical its just first down to the bottom, contestants then need to get out and run to a door to open (has a redstone lock on it so only one door can open) and the treasure is inside.
Rock Climbing Area
This will consist of probably two identical courses inside a Colosseum style arena, or with either one massive wall that contestants need to jump up ledges to get to the top, or the identical courses which are a tall glass rectangle with the jumping ledges around the inside of the glass. Viewers can watch from the outside as the contestants try jump their way up.
Now onto PVP ideas,
Conquest Style Warfare
This could be a 10x10 field layout design, each square would be about 20 cubes long and wide. PVP teams of 5 or 10 players each can enter into the conquest style game. Each team can chose a starting point on the map, they get one square. Teams battle for territory over the arena! They can only challenge enemy clans that are adjacent to them. Battles could take place on say Weekends and midweek or something, at an organized time between both clans. The battles will probably be a 5 vs 5 teams were once u have eliminated the other team you claim that new territory, once a territory is claimed that grid is destroyed and the clan who won it or owns it can build defenses on it. Rules could be,
Cannot completely wall off you territory.
Cannot build structures more than 30 cubes high.
If you win a challenge against a clan who originally challenged you, you can instantly challenge an adjacent territory that they may own from your newly claimed plot.
This would be the visual idea (but in a smaller 5x5 grid style)
Unclaimed
Yellow clan
Green Clan
Blue Clan
Red Clan (New one)
Above, red cant attack anyone yet (undecided who they could claim the unclaimed ground around them yet) While any other clan can attack in any direction except diagonal. Here yellow can be attacked by both blue and green, but blue can only be attack by yellow, and same with green can only attack yellow. Unclaimed ground in the middle goes up to a dispute between both party's on either side of it, and a fight goes down over that space.
Stuff along those lines, i think it would be really good, rather than real world battles which would be a lot harder to police, these types of battles can be observed and once a plot is claimed can be cuboided to avoid greifing and such. Obviously there would be a hell of a lot more rules around this type of game play, at least the idea is out there now and can be worked on.
No. The rules are in place to provide protection for non pvp players. Anyone who abuses these rules is instantly banned for griefing. Simple.

No one should be forced to pay for protection from griefers. That is not a good idea. I am not comfortable with this at all. I like a pig hunting idea. It would be a great exp gain for the participants and can be used to distribute prizes based off the most bacon.

I think having biome-related dungeons is a must, if dungeons are included. Seeing ice and snow in a dungeon in the desert just doesn't make sense. As well as your idea for build-offs and those being the markers for dungeons possibly, sounds like a good idea.
Starting everyone from nothing, economy-wise, is a bad idea, however, giving everyone a "starter" amount could certainly balance things, as clan leaders could pool the money from everyone in their clan and stuff like that.
Jobs are a definite with an economy, but some of the job systems I've seen on other servers make no sense whatsoever, so we'll have to really think hard on that ish.
Rent, like someone mentioned, is a great way to get the economy rolling, however, usually that stimulates the economy because it is going to someone else who is going to spend it, if we gave you all the money, then you'll have billions upon billions with little need to spend it all. So landowners are a total must, like, dividing the map into quadrants and having someone "own" each and charge rent. That could start competitive pricing and that's how you really get an economy going.
Which brings us to shops. Having too many, is a bad way to do things, so limiting the number of shops in each quadrant could help, and limiting what they can sell helps too. As well as them not being able to gather their own wares! Something along those lines, so they can hire people to gather for them! I've seen several cases where someone who plays a lot, sells a bit of everything, and mines or gathers it all himself, and the economy falls because he now has all the money.
Last bit... I know several people have worked hard on their homes and such... but I honestly think some type of a map reset would do well to even the playing field for Everyone. I'm saying this as someone who walled off an area, has a tree farm and a very successful mining area And a farm.

Isn't there a mining competition out already? Say you have a time limit to get as many mining resources as possible( ), then whoever has the most of whatever gets a prize of some sort? I don't know. That leaves loads of room for cheaters.

Haha yea, thats exactly the point, its like turtle racing in real life. You can't control them! you just jump on a pig and hope for the best, the terrace style design would be such that pigs can go backwards, so it would be like a 2 block drop to the next tier, and just goes down from there. You can bet on ur pigs and such and just jump on and hope for the best xD
I was thinking about making it just plain like the Unnamed server tele hub.

Lottery system has been installed and is working correctly. Type /lottery to play the lottery as long as you have the resources required as payment! There are tons of things you can win, some shity items, others outstanding prizes. We now have a mail system! You can send messages to people, even if they are offline! Please check the original post for updated commands.
I also installed a secret mod that will help aid me in protecting the community. I can't tell you what it is, but it IS awesome. Soon to come is an update called Stats and Achievements. I will be using these to put in an achievement system where you can get rewards based on certain criteria, such as mining 1 million blocks, 1 million obsidian, etc. XD
Last bit... I know several people have worked hard on their homes and such... but I honestly think some type of a map reset would do well to even the playing field for Everyone. I'm saying this as someone who walled off an area, has a tree farm and a very successful mining area And a farm.

Jeez. So many posts in just the last day. Be impossible for me to reply to them all, so I'll just comment on a few of the points I think deserve to be commented on. However, I will comment on all the minigame ideas though since I'm event admin or whatever the title was. :tongue.gif:
@Teleporter Hub - A good idea, charging diamonds for a spot in the hub is a good idea, only concern is that it gives an incentive to do item duping. Also, the personal section sounds like it'd get messy fast. Unless you have some specific way of doing that part in mind, I'd strongly discourage that.
@Economy Stuff - First, a reset is bad, we all started out equal at the beginning, starting out equal again will just make people upset. Bad idea. Having land owned by people and renting it out though wouldn't work. We'd end up with people claiming more land than is reasonable like what happened in Prism. Again, bad idea .As for an actual economy system, I've been thinking about one and exactly how it would work, but I'm not quite ready to explain it yet. I will eventually. Look forward to it. :wink.gif:
@Charging for Cuboids - I'm with Roma on this one, shouldn't have to charge for grief protection

@Free Build - Sounds like it could get some interesting structures made, however, spreading them across the map I'm against. Doesn't feel as 'legit' to me if that were done. However, I also don't think they should just sit there. A large museum type thing for the best builds could be made, assuming they aren't made too incredibly large. Just a thought, something that can be expanded more upon later.
@Pig Hunting Contest - Heh. Sounds rather odd. Maybe at some point.
@Pig Racing - I've seen that done before, looked kinda amusing. Track would have to be short though so races don't last forever. I could see it working out, more of a betting thing than an actual "race to the finish line to win" race though.
@White Water Rafting Arena - I like this idea a lot. A actual race where skill of boats is needed and only one can win due to the lock. Will definitely keep this in mind.
@Rock Climbing - Sounds cool, and would be funny if health is on and people fall. :s
@Conquest Warfare - Sounds a lot more organized than clans going after eachothers' necks day after day. I like it, but there will have to be a spot set off from the rest of the map for it, which won't be too hard once the map expands quite a bit.
@Mining Competition - I feel it would be too random, and would mess up the map with random ugly caves going down from the surface. :/
@Secret Anti Griefer Mod - Would this secret mod happen to be in version 4? I have a guess on what it is...
@Achievement Mod Thing - Having a way to see that would be nice, see the stats of others, but I don't think rewarding for it would be good, would make people go for mining a lot, and possibly ruining the map in hopes of the reward from the achievement, rather than getting it normally from normal building collecting.
