Okey, hello everyone!
This is an event server which we do Ultra Hardcore games on and we dont have enough people right now to fill it up on our own, so we are opening it up for anyone to join and fill up the spots.
Right now, the server can hold 12 people, so thats what we aim for every match. This will normally be in an FFA format where its everyone against everyone and nobody is allowed to team up. Sometimes, a Team format will be used, but we will state that in advance.
If you want to come and chat with us at any time, we have our own channel at Quakenet (IRC) named #UltraHardcore, so please come by and hang out with us if you so please. We also appreciate if everyone signing up would come there so that we can keep people updated about any issues in real time. You can use http://webchat.quakenet.org if you dont wish to download a client.
Ok, so in Ultra Hardcore, we have some rules and information that needs to be known/followed:
Your health will not regenerate (even if your hunger bar is full). The only way to regain health is to eat Golden Apples or drinking Healing potions.
Golden Apples are crafted with Gold Ingots on our server.
Glistering Melons are crafted with Gold Block on our server.
Map will have a certain size, with borders around it so that nobody can run off and hide far away. Size varies, but is usually 1000x1000 - 1500x1500 for 12 players.
To be whitelisted for the server, you will need to sign up (remember to state your MC name).
When you join, you will be given a random spawn location. Everyone will be frozen until the server message states that the game has started. (If you can still move, be fair and wait till it starts.)
The goal is to be the last man standing (or last team standing if its a team game), but dont sit down in a cave and wait for everyone to die (would be real boring anyway). Play to win, dont camp to win.
No teams or alliances during a FFA game.
No hacks or cheats (obviously). This includes any mod that can give you an advantage. Optifine f.ex. is fine.
No branch/strip mining. If you cant find surface caves, you are allowed to dig for caves if you hear cave sounds or if your really unlucky, you can dig a staircase to bedrock to find cave ofcourse.
No 1x1 towers unless searching for other players.
Dont base your game on getting diamonds. If you find some while looking for iron/gold, then that is completly fair, but dont spend 3 hours looking for diamonds.
In addition to this, we also have a tracking plugin installed on the server. This is to avoid the tidious endings that we have had a few times, where the two last players run around in circles trying to find eachother.
To use the tracker, you will need Obsidian(or Lava Bucket+Water Bucket), Cobblestone and Smoothstone.
Create one obsidian block and then place cobblestone arms in each direction you want to search and end the arm with a block of smoothstone. Then stand on the obsidian block and type /track playername to find out roughly where that player is.
Each block of the tracker arm represents 25 blocks of tracking distance.
To find North, look at the sky. Clouds travel towards North.
Trackers only tell you if the player is within the tracking distance, not their actual location. This is where temporary/smaller trackers will help you out to pinpoint locations.
CHANGES made 30.04.2012: Tracker now remains after use, which means you can use it several times. You also have the option to track everyone now, with /track all

Still some spots open for today guys. It will be Teams of 2 this time around. So 12 = 6 teams of 2. Could be fun Also, the tracker has been changed so that it can be used multiple times, and you can now track everyone at once, not one by one. The tracker remains in the same spot after use though. Also, since we have teams, and have a circular map today and not square as usual, spawns should be fine with smaller maps, so there wont be this long drag at the end to find the last people alive.
If you dont have a teammate to play with, you will get someone else who doesnt have a teammate. We will solve this someway, just come and have fun. Starts in approximetly 1 hour+-
