Server Information Sheet
Welcome to the information page for the Total Freedom Minecraft server. The Total Freedom server is a free form sandbox server located at the address of 184.108.40.206:28965. Here in Total Freedom, all players are given OPs/Admin privileges after reviewing and agreeing to the rules listed here. Unlike most multiplayer servers, we like to allow maximum freedom here, whether it’s using a fly mod or logging in without a paid account. Total Freedom does not mean total anarchy and there are a few rules that must be followed. After reviewing the rules and information aids, please let one of us know in-world to that you agree to the rules and you will be given OPs right away.
The server owner is MarkByron and all players are equal in privileges. However, regular players can be accorded honorary admin status by positively contributing to the server. Positive contributions include making fantastic builds that get saved into the default map, assisting the server owner in fighting off griefers and/or cleaning up their mess (e.g. lava and water towers), assisting new players, keeping the server free of litter, and so forth. The console Admin is Madgeek1450 and other admins are dprocks99, MetalHunter, tedi, jackofhallow, mrkregg, IGGYDude, _Mocca_, Kellychasteen, elephants148, Cheeky_badger, Tylerf99, pigruler, Cordacc, Thenaz, mikkepita, a7xtreme123, Mudzac, Copperbot10, marraffa234, i_are_a_pony, Sandra7, Juultjee, Allan8292, miwojedk, deathbyshe3p, Ethanmort, Tidus46, Nimnom, Nickyf01, Jonoserf, PressAforAlex, MegaF4IL, daniel0410, and beamm. Please let MarkByron if anybody is missing from the list or if you wish to be listed as an honorary admin based on your positive contributions. Admins should give OPs to all new members and color their name with colorme; tell the newbies to read the rules and this website. They can also deop griefers (first choice) and temporarily ban persistent griefers. Admins may not deop, kick or ban other admins unless a griefer is posing with an admin or owner account name (based on the poser using a different IP than is usually used by the admin or owner). Only the owner (markbyron) and madgeek1450 are authorized to do IP bans, deop other admins, or other long term measures to stop griefing. Admins may use an [Admin] nick title tag if they so wish; non-admins my not use it but if they use [Admin] title tag, they must use real name with it.
There are console admins who can remotely start and restart the server plus remotely op or deop. Presently the console admins are madgeek1450, jonoserf, tylerf99, jackofhallow, miwojedk, cordacc, beamm, and daniel0410.
There is also honorary non-administrative positions of master builder, security officer, and technical assistant. The master builder is miwojedk, security officers are kregg / nickyf01 and techs are beamm, and daniel0410.
Do not pose as the server owner (markbyron) and do not pose as one of the other regular players that use Total Freedom. By posing, that means using a program such as MinecraftSP or otherwise changing your nick. Posing to change your title or to pose as somebody ‘famous’ is okay provided you do not use it grief the server.
Do not grief the server. There are many way to do that but the most common are to intentionally crash the server, lag the server, destroying or damaging the spawn, destroying or damaging other player builds, erasing warp points, PVP without agreement of other players, chat spamming, and so forth.
Respect other players total freedom. Do not be a pest or nuisance to to other players and respect their privacy.
Do not override the actions of the server owner (markbyron). For example, the server owner de-ops a player for griefing and you op them without permission of the server owner.
Violation of the rules may result in a temporary de-op with exile to the nether or temporary IP ban. The length of an IP ban will be determined by the server owner based on the severity of the violation.
NOTE: Use Twitter and send a tweet to the server owner (twitter name is markbyrn not markbyron) if you’ve feel that you’ve been incorrectly banned or wish to discuss the ban.
Information Aids: (I.E. How to save builds and use commands)
Due to the immense and immediate world changing capabilities of the plugins and griefing, the server is frequently reset and restored to a default save map. Except as arranged with the server owner (MarkByron), all builds, experiments, and user inventories are temporary UNLESS YOU save them using the //wand command.
To use the //wand command (aka save a schematic), do //wand, select the lower and upper corner points to cover your entire build, than do //copy, than //save nameofbuild. To load a schematic back into the world, do //load nameofbuild, than //paste
To enjoy all the plugin tools that are at your command, here are the basic essentials and links to the respective website page. At times, we may need to run the ‘vanilla’ server - see the end of this page for an explanation.
To obtain any minecraft resource, use the /item command. For example, say /item 278 1 to get an iron pickaxe. First, the data values for all Minecraft materials from a block of air to a gold record is at: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Data_values - this is critical and please don’t continually ask what the value for a given item is when you can look it up yourself. You can also use /search to find the item number. For example, /search diamond will give you results for all diamond related items.
Also, if you don’t yet have OPs, you can say /kit tools to get some basic gear.
After you’ve been given OPs, say /help to see what plugin commands are available. This server will normally use the bukkit mod with various bukkit plugins. Do NOT use any command unless you know what it does - ask other players as needed.
HOW TO USE THE PLUGINS
WARNING: When using the World Edit plugin, avoid selecting a radius greater than 99 or 10 by 10 in volume. Selecting overly large numbers will typically lag and crash the server which of course is a violation of the rules above. If you make a World Edit that accidentally causes destruction to the spawn or other player builds, you should immediately say //undo. While accidents can happen, be responsible and if you’re just learning World Edit, test the commands in remote part of the map far away from any other builds.

Moving with Compass and flying with Feather
Moving with the compass or flying with a feather is part of the Bukkit essentials plugin and is used by placing a compass or feather in hand. For the compass move, the key feature here is to point and click teleport over massive distances - hold a compass, point at a position you want to move (as long as you can see it, you can move to it), and left click. You can also do quick tunneling by right clicking to set tunnel mode and than left click on the ground. Assuming there’s a tunnel somewhere below you, it will immediately take you to that tunnel. As it does not mine out the hole to that tunnel, it will be pitch dark when you arrive so have a torch handy and place it. To leave the tunnel instantly, point your compass upward and click to back to the top. Also, with a feather in hand, you can fly by right clicking the ground to move up and than clicking into the distance to fly horizontally. It’s easier to fly if you install a mod such as Zombe (google it)
There are additional plugins besides the above, and we’ll be adding information links in the future.
If you create mods yourself or know of other mods that you'd like to see here, let MarkByron know.
Vanilla Server Information:
Vanilla Mode: If the Bukkit mod is broken due to a recent Minecraft software change (all the plugins depend on it), we will be forced to use the standard Minecraft server software. As the standard server software is extremely limited, we call it vanilla mode. In this mode, we’ll have to manually ‘Op’ each player and this will allow each player to to ‘give’ themselves inventory material (same as the item command above except use /give instead of item.) See the following for more details and command syntax:
However, as Minecraft is continually updated, there is no guarantee that the mods and plugins will continue to function or that the developers will fix them when Minecraft is updated; we’ll do our best to update or replace mods and plugins as needed. If you have suggestions, please send a message to MarkByron.
