Hello, there! We are a small community of Minecraft players interested in both Survival and Freebuild gameplay. We have a brand new map for 1.8, and survival and creative (freebuild) style worlds - all of them easy to access and use.
We have awesome towns you can live in, but if you prefer to live in the wild, go ahead! We use WorldGuard to protect cities and towns from greifing, and LogBlock to catch and rollback greifers. We're a fun community that you would love to join!
You will need to register on our forums and post a short application using the template provided at the link above. It's worth the time - and only takes less than 2 minutes! You can still join the server, but will not be able to build if you don't apply.

Greifing Protection
We use WorldGuard to protect cities and towns from greifers, but provided you still get greifed, any moderator can and will rollback all the damage done and ban the player responsible. You can also use LWC to protect your chests/doors/signs/etc.
Survival & Creative Worlds
Pick what type of gameplay you want - all worlds have easy access though portals located at the server spawn.
Fun Plugins
You can join our epic mob arena to fight some monsters for cool prizes, make use of our custom lumberjack plugin (makes trees act like cacti so you only break the bottom log), and tons more.

How you will benefit the server: I enjoy eccentric buildings, so I will try to bring a creative vibe.
Ideas on what you want to build? I have built 3 beach houses, 4 contemporary houses, 4 eccentric/crazy houses (only 3 of them came out cool, IMO.), countless townhouses, and 3 cities. I'm familiar with all types, so I think I could really work with anything. I'd enjoy building a personal city for myself and my girlfriend, maybe a few friends.
These photos require some explanation. As you requested a "build," I placed one of my large projects in a Photobucket folder. They're all of a world where my friends and I edited in a 1000 x 1000 area with water from bedrock to sky. Then, I designed a sunken glass city, which is displayed in screenshot one. (It includes an aquaduct, which I made.) Screenshot two displays a glass sphere city, still underwater, of which I created. The big sphere is the main hub, and the small adjacent spheres are for my friends and I to each build a house correlating to a specific biome theme. The rest of the pictures show the biome I chose, beach. I made an odd house, of which I deem "contemporary" as it focuses around basic geometric shapes running concurrent in a small area. The last photo displays the shot I love most, a forest of sunken trees. I also included a quote from Brave New World on the sign. (I place a classic literature quote in every house I make.)

i just got some 'connection lost' 'response code 503' thing wtf. All i wanna do is play wit some piggies and mine diamond but NO, this 503 thing is keeping me from reaching my dreams. jus sayin.
The server will be staying on 1.6.6 for a while - I need to wait for Bukkit and the such to update. It could be up to a week, so if you can, find a way to downgrade your client.
Sorry about the not being able to build thing, you should be fixed now.
