I still think this would be better if there were absolutely 0 mods. That way no admins could be gay and all that stuff. And the whitelist.. I don't know. It's not like in real life you would kill everybody you didn't want in your town...

I would love to help build a subway or some other form of railroad to help faster travel and empire expansion. I could also make videos. :tongue.gif: JuiceHead
awesome im adding you right away. Since you can make vids, how bout you do a nice LP series of the server, that would be awesome. Maybe even a promo vid(once we get real developed.)
I would love to do that!
Awesome. Heads up guys, I just signed an LP contract with JuiceHead productions!
Forget it, I'm out. I suppose I really was correct in my original post.
What I've seen on this server is just a bunch of unprofessional griefing and mod abuse. Don't let them lie to you, the mods get plenty involved in this social experiment and they have a pretty bad tendency to intervene.
Upon entering the server, I made a home. I began to be involved in the town, until someone burned down a rather large tower. After two more wooden structures perished, a couple of people and I decided to depart from the island. Apparently, this was not okay with the mods, and, after getting called a "ragequitter" multiple times by both other players and the moderators (or 'gods,' as they refer to themselves as), they used everything in their power to intervene in this social experiment that was designed to test how people developed a society on their own. I've had zombies and other hostile mobs spawned on me as a "joke," lava buckets poured on my house, and the main administrator of the server has spawned plenty a hostile mob on me during my time on the server, just because I broke away from the spawn town.
Aside from the mod abuse of spawning creatures, they do hand out stacks upon stacks of resources who give them 'sacrifices.' Usually, these sacrifices are the 'bodies' of 'wanted citizens.' Unfortunately, they deem anyone they hold a personal grudge against as a 'wanted citizen.' In other words, if you spawn camp a guy the admins don't like, you get free diamond blocks. Another form of 'sacrifice' to the mods is a relatively rare item. This would normally be okay, except for the fact that there is absolutely no security in Minecraft. Hell, if I had a neutral reputation with the "gods," (which I obviously don't), I could loot someone's house, take their valuables, offer them to the gods, and get free diamonds, or any other resource I damn well please. But then again, the admins have a grudge on me for no reason at all, so that's out of the question. That's that, I guess.
I'm not trying to drive away traffic, all I'm saying is that this isn't a social experiment, it's a controlled, tightly-monitored and ruled server that has absolutely nothing to do with a social experiment.

Lava bucket was a regular member... most zombies were natural, the ones that weren't were not jokes. There is not a single mod, mattzey was demoted far earlier than your time, you already know most of ths. So, you are driving away traffic believe it or not. Also, your friend calamity blue was the griefer, we checked logs. You also stole from people, which was against the democratic rules.
Gods are meant to make game more interesting, ei. Religion, offerings etc, like irl, but not to control server. :/

Ooh boy, have I got a lot to say to you. I may as well speak on the behalf of the rest of your angry server as well.
The lava bucket was definitely not a regular member, it was one of your damn mods. How else would lava get on the roof of our hollowed-out cave, and flow directly in front of the door, without us seeing the player? You and I both know that's impossible. If you're going to frame CalamityBlue for this one, you might as well give up, because he was inside when we both saw it happen.
You and I both know you spawned upon me slimes and a ghast in an attempt to stop me in the desire to secede, and in turn, assist in this social 'experiment'. Your moderator Mattzey also spawned plenty of creepers for Calamity and I to deal with, but if you want, we can keep that little detail on the down-low.
As for CalamityBlue being the griefer, how can you prove that? Granted, I was not associated with him until after the griefings, but you "checked the logs"? What? There's no way to check who set something on fire at a certain time in the game. You can check chat history, and who destroyed what block. Not who set what on fire at what time. That's not possible, so framing a friend of mine is out of the question now.
And I might as well steal! Hell, everyone does. The only way to climb up the social 'ladder' in this server without looting someone is to bribe the gods with cheap rewards and other miscellaneous items or 'sacrifices' while getting free stacks of diamond hand delivered to you.
Everyone told me I could steal, but if I got caught I'd be killed, and if I didn't I could keep the things. EVERYONE on the server told me that, apparently, that was wrong. :l I am very interested, although not that active, in this experiment, and I have to say, moving away just because there was a little hard time is just weak. You don't form a government by being "Nomadic" as some players have said. You stick with it, no matter how hard it gets. There is stealing in real government, so I think that should be an aspect here. Punishable, of course, if caught.
If there are going to be gods in the aspect of this, then I think there should be priests and churches. I know this isn't how it works, but just hear me out. The "priests" could SOMETIMES contact the gods, and obtain wisdom from them. The gods being Drewlark and the other OPs, if there are any. However, these gods can have ZERO interaction with the actual players, aside from the priest. The priest would be there to help stop people from moving away, and have them settle down.
I think that would be neat, just saying. It would help stop this bickering nonsense. Another aspect could be griefers. If someone griefs, they are disobeying the religion of the people, and could be considered a "sin". These griefers would then, over a period of time, either be converted into the good side, or banned.

Mattzey had flymod, which does nit require op status.
And as for long statement, the server keeps a log of blocks placed etc, we found that calamity lit the town.
No offense, but it is obvious you are a bit of a newbie, or just do not understand the inner workings of a server.

Wouldn't the server detect a fly mod and kick him? Also, you can't detect blocks placed unless you have mods on. Which, I'm guessing you do. I'm fine with mods that keep track of things, but mods like iConomy and crap that change the actual game kinda suck. And you ignored my post, I think. D:

Flymod. Yes, how about that flymod?
For the fourth time, you cannot trace who started a fire. A fire in Minecraft is not a block, it is an entity. You, of all people who obviously knows the 'inner workings' of a server should know this. You cannot trace who created an entity on the server. Doing that would be like trying to find out who spawned a creeper. You just can't do it. And if you're going to try and BS your way out of this some more and say "well we can detect who lit the fire by which blocks were destroyed," wrong again. The fire itself destroys blocks, and Minecraft does not keep a record of who's fires burned which blocks.
That would be just silly. But you already knew that, because you know the inner workings of a server.

I must say, this is true. Fire is just a block with different abilities. The ability to spread, destroy blocks, hurt players, etc. Just as gravel and sand have the ability to fall.

What? Don't tell me you hate people who agree with enemies. That's just plain childish. O.o
EDIT: I just realized I got 1k posts two posts ago. Going to trace what my 1000th post was, and edit it. Just for the sake of memory.
So yeah... a little more on-topic, it was commented that we might get a council-style government, with 3 heads rotating every week, for starters. And as I see no mention of it so far, well, here it is. Discuss.
I for one am in favor; not quite the one person government as typical democracy is, but not anything too liberal to cause unruliness or havoc (I hope).
This looks interesting and I have a lot of free time. I might become part of this. I don't know what mumble is but I am guessing it is a voice chat thing or something. I just got a great head set today so I should be able to use that just fine. I am a great spelunker and I think I can make a good profit mining. Maybe I can help the economy by starting a mining company here if I join this. I will look in to this and hopefully be joining tomorrow. When that happens I will say my stuff about me. I am not completely sure if I can or will join this. But it looks fun and interesting! And I like things that are fun and interesting!
Edit: I just looked mumble up and had a talk with my sister Spycat1750 about this. And I have already decided I am going to join in. I just need to download mumble.
So here is my info about me:
Your name: Travis B.
:obsidian:What you want to establish on the server: I want to mine to help the community grow. Like start a mining company to make the trade business grow and create more productivity in the community. Wich hopefully will have a great outcome. Your minecraft username: Treefrog54
I hope I get in and that all goes well here!
