Jedi: Accepted, but know that we'll be observing your behavior and demoting you if we decide you're not a suitable match.
Braddo: Declined, sorry. At first I was going to ask you to provide pictures of your "architecture", but I saw the "castle" in your signature and I'm afraid I'm going to have to decline you for membership into the server. Sorry.
Leinad: You've been declined 3+ times, and I think someone banned you on the server last week. shoo
In other news,
Dvarvaro's art museum is going excellent and is speculated for completion by the end of the week. Members, VIPs and other officials are being asked to create original works of "modern art" to go on display. Please note, this does NOT mean pixel art!
Flatirons/Turtleey is moving to Arvada this Tuesday, and it'll take a while - at the least a day or two - to set up the internet, and perhaps longer to set up the computer area. Jok3r09 and Dvarvaro will be sharing the position as Manager until he returns.
Jok3r09 has recently gotten into Hammer mapping and has created an excellent first map. This may lead to Styx expanding to other Source games like Garry's Mod and CS:S! Isn't that exciting? No?
Discussions are being made on moving Temple of Zeus (featured on crafthub!) into the main city. Exact location is still being debated. (To see the original, go to warp temple_of_zeus)
Joindate (when I bought Minecraft): September 2010
My Talents: converting 3d meshes to voxel format and building them in minecraft. Also redstone. And coding mods:
Age: 32
Info about me (real life and minecraft): Business manager at a doctor's office, with a side of IT. Live in Wyoming. Have spent my minecraft days on various Shacknews.com servers, with a brief foray onto a TeamLiquid.net server
Why I think I would be a great member: Building is my favorite part of Minecraft, and I am not terribad at it.
Strong Points (architecture, art, social activity): Figuring out how to represent that building with blocks. Hanging out
Weak Points: can go for a good long while without building while I plan something out. Not good at just doing (ie perfectionist tendencies - lol stereotypical "what are your weak points" interview answer).

I would like to point out that if you remember Flatirons on our server, his name in-game is now his name on this site, Turtleey. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
@Flats, moving the temple would be a great idea so no one just happens to wander onto my giant land-hole of failed or incomplete projects...
In other news, during the course of the week I will be working on new signature-banners for our server, much like the one below, but updated and better quality.

I unfortunately haven't taken a large amount of pictures of my work, however here is a picture of the 'Eco-Sphere' and 'White Palace' I have built with my friend Ferra. (The white palace has a huge 2 story basement and interior rooms in its towers. Unfortunately the server no longer exists and I have no screenshots of its other details. Just this google pixel map and a few other shots remain.)
I heard Jok3r's computer came in today. He says server will be up by 10 PM EST.
Edit: Not up yet. Dunno what's taking so long. Stay tuned.
It's been up for hours. ANYWAYS, we came into a little trouble. Everything is fine with the PC but we are missing an important feature; the RAM. Apparently, to have the full 48 GB of RAM, you need the dual CPU in the Motherboard. Now my first CPU was already 780 bucks, but I don't have money to spend another 700-800 bucks to just buy the CPU. Right now the PC has a full 24 GB on it and the server is running off of 20. Now I wish I had the other CPU but it is just too much for me to buy right now again. If anyone wants to donate to help me reach my goal that would be nice :biggrin.gif: You can donate at styxreborn.com But the good news is that the server has noticeably changed performance wise. Have to get going on the OVERCLOCK soon for the CPU. I hope I can get the other CPU for extreme hosting :biggrin.gif:
So, basically, the server just got 6 GB out of a potential 20 and we need 700$ in donations to unlock it.
That's for all of you dyslexic folks with us tonight.
In other news, all of my damn furniture is gone, including my TV, and I'm sleeping on the floor. So if someone could tape Family Guy for me, that would be appreciated.
How many times do I have to explain this? It's not like the server is running off of 2 gigs of ddr here, its a full 24 gigs of DDR3 1600, which is more than enough to power the server. I don't understand why everyone is jumping to the conclusion that the server 'sucks' now. So you know what? We need to playtest the server and see if it produces any lag. If it does, we need to upgrade. If it doesn't, we can keep it the way it is. There's no sense in blowing away a grand for no benefit.
I think the most logical course of action would be to take the 20 we have now, and split it in the most logical fashion- give 7 RAM to the Survival, and 13 to the Creative (since the creative is where intensive world editing can occur).

Maybe, but Survival needs exact percision in order to hit enemies with a bow and sword - mobs can lag a server quite a bit, but you do have a point. Creative will have some intense explosions, incredible map size, and extreme world editing, so we have to get it as much GB as possible without draining Survival.
I was messing with the pistons, very confusing. I was trying to make a fence-gate that's castle-like, but soon remembered that pistons can only work with one block at a time. :/
I maybe a castle portcullis 3x3, haha. The trick is, to have the top three sticky pistons, the bottom three normal pistons, and the middle three fence, and have them all extended to have it closed. The thing is, extended piston bars look enough like fences that it looks natural, lol.
