I read the rules, but I was just saying that because it seemed like an accident that that was possible. I suppose it would be impossible to keep people from doing that though.

Anything regarding the game up to the end of the great tree is finished... so don't worry about any "accidents".
And yes, it is technically impossible for me to prevent people from "going outside the lines" as it were...but i figure if people are going to not play by the rules, they ruin the map for themselves. So I'm not getting anal about "cheaters" map design wise. People who want to enjoy the map for what it is will play it the way it was intended with the rules, those who don't...thier loss and i could care less.
Why is no one posting here? Chaz? anyone? did we just forget this thing?
Well the bump will get people interested.
I've been mainly doing work on it with Omen (as well as toying around in Omen to get a feel for it...). So not much in the name of progress has been done. :sad.gif:
Also given the sheer smallness of the map i'm using, i may have to cut down the dungeons intended to put in (8 plus the tower). I cant think of how i'm going to add 3-4 more dungeons on the limited space i have. Also the underwater "city" isn't going as well as i planned (again due to small map size). I'll have to make some changes to what i wanted but it will still be the pathway to the entrance of the Golden Tower.
Next map i'll do will most DEFINATELY be a bigger map.
Speaking of which.. anyone want to give some ideas as to "where" the next Golden Tower map will be? A desert? A mountain range? Under the sea? Something?
Well, I was thinking that the next Golden Tower should be kind of set in Dreamland... Like, you create 8 different settings (desert, jungle) in one server and seperate them with walls the color of the current sky...then make a dungeon in each setting. If you worked it a bit, you could have windows or "sneak peeks" at the other settings without giving away the next dungeon completely, thus creating a confusing pathway.
The new "Golden Tower" could be seen from all 8 areas (as it is in this map), but instead of it being gold or a tower you could have it be the entire sky, with you jumping on clouds or solving puzzles in planets (a space setting?). Therefore the "new golden tower" would be like a "final boss" in the sky of each area, but connected, in a way.
If you can picture it, that is.
If you can't picture it I can use my limited Paint.net skills to create an example.

That sounds crazy complicated.. O_o; Though I'm gona keep the Golden Tower a tower... that kind of defeats the purpose of an ongoing "story" of sorts. Though i might go the route of some "sky climbing" when running through the next Golden Tower dungeon.
Finally.. I'm satisfyed with the dungeon now. It is a bit short but it's length is more upon if you go int he right direction (it's open ended with no real indication of where you should go first...)
This dungeon has, what i think, is a pretty adrenilene pumping "chase sequence"..not against Lava..but water. You're probably thinking: "Water? Really? Pssh.." But take into account that the area the water is "chasing" you has NO AIR POCKETS. Water indeed. =p
This dungeon houses the Tan/Beige? Key and you need it to progress to The Forge...duh? XD
Expect the next dungeon to contain some hectic lava death traps and mazes and jumping.
The Beginning and Current Dungeon links are updated appropriately.
Last, just a big thanks to everyone who gets inspired to make adventure maps for Survival Mode. It's nice to see i caused something like that..not to mention it's good to see new life get bred into Survival Mode. =D
My only complaint is the floating over lava part, I gave up after failing the first time when I got pounced by a spider... And it takes forever to get back to it :sad.gif:
p.s. for the water run, you have to run in front of the water.
Hi, I just wnated to ask 2 things:
1. Is the current dungeon finished? Because I keep running into dead ends (like the save in the lava trap wink wink).
It does look good though!
2. I'll make a pic of the dreamland thing... It might still not be what you want but it might help you visualize the scene.
It's called a "chase" for a reason. You're supposed to run ahead of the water until the "end". then navigate the area below..unless you LIKE being burned by lava. :3 If you can't seem to get ahead of the water perhaps you should try breaking the black block from another angle?

It's finished as far as i'm conserned. If you're talking about the pit at the bottom of the gold room, you're doing it wrong because you need the Tan Key to progress safely down there. There are a good many dead ends and i make them try to appear like they were "caved in" at some points.
Agreed, It was impossible, and I had a LOT of shrooms...
im not positive on this, but the water run trap is i,possible for your current save. not enough shrooms.
You're doing it wrong. Shrooms are not the answer. =p
i tries. it moves too fast
Water moves at the same speed the player does. You need to make sure you can get a head start after breaking the block and you need to optimize your "running" so you don't get caught by the water.
Good to know this dungeon is particulary "hard"..that's what i wanted. >:3
EDIT:
UPDATE: I just realized a mistake in the final part of the dungeon. There was a glass block blocking the water flow in the gold chamber. It should be fixed soon...outside of that:
-Create the Forge and the rest of the skywalk
-remade the entire skywalk and some of the sky jumping puzzle leading to the glass maze.
The update should be ready soon, if it isn't (noticeable by the fact there's no skywalk in the sky) then wait awhile. I'll edit this post when i finish the changes.
EDIT #2:
Ok. Problem fixed and cosmetic changes done. Everything should be working fine now up to the end of the dungeon (below the golden chamber).

what are you talking about...? concrete key?
kinda obvious concrete does not equal key. If you read the rules, you would have noticed only CLOTH blocks on glass=key
Ahh..haha. Wow, given that it sounds like someone is -trying- to find faults to nag me on. Minus 5 points to Xy. :3
isnt there a silver key. last i checked silver is a metal, not cloth.

You forgot something, but for added fun, I won't tell you what it is.

even traveling the "hub world" would be dangerous.
