I have lost count of all the times survival mode has made me **** brix. I want to know if any one else is having any equally awesome moments. I'll start off with some of mine.
A herd (the word I use for a group of them) of creepers spawned outside my dirt hovel. There were a TON of them and they were way too close, so I decided to lead them off to a hole that had been started earlier by some other creepers. I managed to get aggro on all 10 or so of them and lead them over treacherous terrain to the hole. Once they were all in I unloaded arrows on them. Just as the first one explodes a zombie sneaks up on me and knocks me INTO the hole were the creepers were. Suddenly my screen was filled with glowing, angry creeper faces and one zombie face. It was like something out of a ****ing horror movie. Only thing that saved me was excessive application of mushrooms.
Earlier I had been trapped in another structure by a decent sized group of zombies. After wasting all my arrows trying to fight them off from the walls I decided to try and dig my way out. I dig a short way down and then start digging across the map a short while before deciding it was safe to come out. When I remove the last dirt block I am assaulted by zombies and creepers. Turns out I had only dug a few blocks under the ground and the zombies had kept aggro on me the whole way and were waiting for me.
I was chopping down part of a forest when I see a zombie in the distance blocked by a couple of trees. I think to myself, "Oh, he is way to far away and to blocked by stuff to get aggro," and return to the tree. 30 seconds later I turn around to have my entire screen FILLED with zombie face. I literally jumped in my seat for this one.
Needless to say I am having way to much fun playing survival. To you guy's have any other stories you want to share?
Those little creeper bitches keep on grouping up and getting in fights with skeletons, above my underground base. it happened a lot of times now that my roof has been completely destroyed, along with the rest of the base.
Considering my underground base is at least 10 tiles deep underground I'm rather paranoid and frequently check the entire base for holes.
The mob spawning system is epic. I'd built a small fort complete with wall, ditches and a sky walkway to the base. I was running low on mushrooms and took a wonder outside to find 3 zombies suddenly swarm me, killed them to turn around to a horde of pigs, mushrooms galore. I did a bit more base building to find a little group of skeletons walking around, they soon spotted my base and were up by my wall. I didn't face them, I couldn't risk it. In the end I jumped on the wall and shot away only to find 6 zombies had joined them.
After dispatching that group of monsters it was peaceful for a short while. I need a supply of wood, I needed a tree seed. I dashed out to a nearby forest to find a creeper and several zombies, I killed them. Got the seed and ran back. As I planted it 3 creepers spawned inside my fort, i dispatched of them which ruined most of my base. Luckily the walkway and house was still intact.
I start to reconstruct the ground and build my orchard when I see that 3 creepers are charging my wall, I fear if I kill them I will not be able to rebuild my wall before other horrors storm my safe haven. Pretty epic session if must say so myself.
Addition:
The creeper blew up, destroying a large section of wall, at once a volley of arrows and zombies stormed towards it to be stuck in the creeper hole. The other 2 creepers blew up, destroying some wall and making the whole larger. I've quickly put the wall back together and re surfaced the floor. My orchard is intact. Interestingly the skeletons actually started to fire upwards in an attempt to shoot over the wall.
Addition 2:
A bunch of zombies and a creeper spawned in my base, connecting a creeper hole to a series of creeper holes, meaning I have a hole in my base leading under the wall and out to a pool full of enemies. You could imagine my surprise when a large bunch of arrows came flying out of the floor, a lot of the base is damaged including one of the main walls. This is turning out to be some game. Looking out of my base I find that there isn't just a skeletons there, but more like a skeleton ARMY! There is at least 20. Im low on resources, the wall is unrepairable from the inside and my mushrooms are very low.
Addition 3:
I repaired the base and built a tower, expanding my orchard at the same time. A group of zombies and pigs spawned inside my base, I took no damage meaning I received some mushrooms for free! The tower has come into a lot of use as in the distance I can see 2 creepers coming closer, 2 pigs outside by the wall and a 5 skeletons nearby the trees around 30 blocks away. They are getting closer, the army of skeletons seems to have disappeared. I can see a large area of sand over the next cliff, though it seems swarming with skeletons and zombies. The sand can help build traps and provide a useful tool for cave exploration (to make ways down) or for hole filling. Though the risk outweighs the potential in this case. A pack of zombies is on top of the cliff and the skeletons are still mingling in the forest, I expect a fight soon.
Was trying to build a sky bridge (1 wide, falling = death) to flood the map on one of Zuriki's maps. Skeleton fell out of the sky attacking me. I nearly fell out of my chair. o.O

I think that falls under the **** brix moment category.
