Trying to contain one while getting mauled by zombies (or something of a dangerous sort) isn't exactly "easy."
You're doing it wrong.
If you're waiting before you enter, then of course you're going to get mauled. Don't give the spawner time to puke up more monsters. Torch first, ask questions later.

I found another dungeon less than 150 blocks away. Sweet.
I used like 15 TNTs because I couldn't find it..
I blew up every zombie, and the chest didn't get hurt.:-D
Only problem, that was closer to my tower, then my other farmer./:

... Have you found a dungeon?

I have found a dungeon in fact. My point is if you are going to set the game to Peaceful just because killing monsters/surviving is not easy, then go ahead and play creative mode, where you get all the stuff you are going to get in your "adventures" right off the bat, and you can start building whatever you want. There's a reason why the mode is called Survival.
Now, what's your point, posting what you did in a "How to survive-Tutorial" thread?
I never said setting the game to peaceful permanently, I said if he plans on going into DUNGEONS use peaceful.

That would still kill the purpose of -Survival-, especially when he's making videos regarding how to survive.
Anyway, I guess your post could be a little useful nonetheless. If you're truly worried about dying in a specific situation, or you got lost in a cave/dungeon (<_<) and you don't wanna lose what you have with you, setting the difficulty to Peaceful automatically derenders the hostile mobs.
Kinda like when Hermey the Misfit Elf pulled the teeth out of the Abominable Snow Monster, thus setting the rest of the show on Peaceful.
Awesome tutorials man.
I wish I had found them before because I spent my first night in a cave with no torches and walled myself in.
True. Light is soooo nice to have on that first night. I really enjoy maps where I have to spend several minutes just to find a source of coal...adds a little spice when you cut it down to the wire...
These are terrific beginner tutorials, they helped me a whole lot without being overly spoilerish.
I was worried about the spoiler aspect so I finally put a warning in the 4th video. AS they say, better late than never. :smile.gif:
Also, another vote for the smooth voice. Are you tall as well? <flutters eyelashes>
Not tall but I do have Spartan abs!
I often have a lot of trouble finding coal, especially on snowy maps. Shivering on high ground or in the sea seems to be the best bet if night comes and you don't have a light source.
In cases like that it's fun to build a boat and sail (row? kick?) around the coastline looking for a good spot to settle.
No sails yet. I was just trying to find the best word for the action of floating around in a boat in Minecraft. :smile.gif: Technically, it's not 'sailing' because there's no sail. So I suppose that 'rowing' and 'paddling' don't work either since there are no oars or paddles! Though I suppose paddling with your hands would work... ok, it's paddling.
Part 5 of the series? Haven't put much thought into a topic yet so what do you think about showing how to build (and secure) a more permanent home? And maybe a few beacons to find your way back? I'm thinking a solid stone structure on a high ledge with a nice overlook from a safe balcony... with lots of to keep the at bay.

Introduction to minecarts, and how to builder a hidden rooms in your hidey hole.;p
Also, you could always call it.. 'boating'

Also maybe something on mining.
But keep up the videos, there's so much more you could do, for ex: how to take down Mob Spawners, how to do mine carts, and so much more! :biggrin.gif:

Spelunking might be a good topic for an "advanced" tutorial. How to lay torches in a way that points you back to your home, how to mine without dropping yourself into a pit of lava, how to survive monsters long enough to get the tunnels lit, and so on.
I'll keep doing the tutorials until I reach a point where I can't demonstrate any more basic gameplay ... for example, I'm not very good at building fancy traps, cannons, roller-coasters, underwater castles, etc. Just don't have the patience (or time) for it.
But I do have an idea for a "Let's Play" type series that might interest some people. It could be a lot of fun to do too so I'm definitely going to put some thought into it.

So I guess what I would do after the steps you have shown is.
1. Making a bigger base
2. mining
3. Redstone doors
4. Minecarts
^^
Oh, and 5th video has been recorded. I just have to transcode/compress/whatever and upload to youtube but I'm out of time for the moment. :sad.gif:

I use Playclaw to record the gameplay (playclaw.com). There is a 14 day trial but I ended up buying it because it's easy and just works.
