Hi all. My family and I are enjoying Minecraft so much that I was compelled to contribute to the community by creating a series of video tutorials for new players. The videos demonstrate how to survive the first few nights in Minecraft Alpha in single-player survival mode. Enjoy!

Thanks. Yeah, and at the rate Minecraft is currently selling there will be plenty of new Minecraftiens looking for some direction on starting out. Will definitely do a couple more to cover the basics.

I need a cave/dungeon diving and a mining tutorial. All I ever run into is stone and gravel. And I'm too much of a wuss to go into caves yet.

Since you seem to know alot about weapons are arrows you pick up good for digging or attacking?

Arrows are best when shot from a bow. Though I suppose you could dig with one too but shovels are best for that. "The right tool for the job" and all that.... :smile.gif:

These are great for people who've just purchased the game. I half-expected it to be one of those videos where it's just text in a terrible font with terrible background music. I was surprised to hear a human voice. Great job. I think you should gradually delve into some more complex things such as working with redstone or doing large scale projects/mining.

Nice tutorials. However, as a seasoned Minecraft player I found your lack of terror and paranoia when the sun goes down terribly unsettling. There were a few points, especially in the first video where I didn't want to keep watching because I kept expecting a monster to murder you while you were explaining game mechanics.

Good work on these videos, you have a knack for them. You do a good job of covering all the information about the topics and narrate everything fluidly. Additionally, you have a voice that's quite pleasant to listen to, which I hope doesn't sound too weird.
