After finishing my Ghast project, I received a few comments here and there requesting that I make a Creeper with the similar organic biological style. I wanted my concept of the creeper to keep the same idea as the original in game one, but i didn't want them to look practically identical. Some may not agree with my concept and say it stretches too far from the original, but I try to remain original and not mimic things.
The project is currently in the "alpha" stage, it's a Work in Progress. Succeeding the alpha stage will be beta, after it has been improved, followed by the final result.
Without further ado, I present the two first test renders followed by the "alpha" wallpaper render: (click on the images for the high-res versions on deviantArt)

Comments and criticism are welcome, much room to improve.
only thing i have to add to your walking design is to wait for the front leg to hit the ground before moving the hind leg itll look alot more natural on to my reaction to seeing this in game
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG RUN FOR YOU LIVES ....SSSSSSSSSSSssssssssssssBOOOM
respawn -.-
for refernce to walking cycle i found a video that if you watch closely shows what i mean

He just wants a hug.
Sufficiently creepy but I can't tell if it works until I see him explode.

"Man staggers through life yapped at by his reason, pulled and shoved by his appetites, whispered to by fears, beckoned by hopes. Small wonder that what he craves most is self-forgetting." Eric Hoffer
Heh. I need to change it soon. One day someone's going to throw something at their web-enabled TV because if it and sue me :tongue.gif:
On topic, perhaps add a run cycle? Like a short-legged gallop with the body leaned slightly forward? Again, like the Scrabs.
yeah i'll add in a run cycle eventually. it isn't #1 on my list because creepers don't really run in-game. but it'd still be fun to experiment with :biggrin.gif:
[edit]: oh yeah, I'm not exactly sure why I made the walk cycle, just for experimental purposes i guess; because i don't intend on making an animation at the time being, just still renders which i'm best at
they look weird, i liked the ones from ocarina of time better. these look a bit too childish lulz
I dunno, the Wind Waker ones freaked me out more for some reason. Probably a combination of the super-disproportionate body and the fact that the scream in that game is a LOT louder...
The legs bear a striking resemblance to the Scrabs from the oddworld games, guess I was thinking of that while modeling
That's good, because Scrabs scared the bejeesus out of me when Oddworld first came out. So it's fitting that they're similar to the next scariest thing I've ever seen: Creepers.
Very Nice, I love your Ghasts as well, Both are terror-ific.

Here's a video of a simple walk cycle I made for it.

Made of stone held together with moss, perhaps?
Problem?
oh also, i almost smashed my screen with my thumb because of your signature
I think everyone who has seen his sig has done the same thing.
On-topic: Holy Sh!t on a Sh!t sandwich with sh!t on top, with a side helping of sh!t, that looks epically freaky.
(Please don't temp-ban me for saying sh!t)
Awesome job.

I think the texture of the body and the faces are somewhat similar, along with the hip shape.
Problem?
that's what was wrong, i knew something seemed off. i know how to fix it now, thanks :wink.gif:

notch said creepers were the result of him trying to make pigs
so in a way, they are the result of a science experiment gone wrong
