Please dont troll me because the map is bland, its my first map, its not perfect.
... Huh. Funny that you posted this right as I am completely NOT making a 1:1 scale replica of the Wind Waker overworld.
Would you allow me to include this? Unmodified of course, unless you're okay with me adding detail. I can provide full credit or perhaps an easter egg of your choice.

You, sir, are crazy. Crazy in a good way mind you, but crazy none the less.

You can't be serious. I mean, if you can pull it off, that would be awesome, but that's such a big project. I spent almost four days just making a dome with a radius of 15 blocks. I can't imagine how long it's going to take to make a 1:1 replica of the Wind Waker world. All that water... ugh.

The only thing worse than Creepers? Zombie Creepers. After exploding, they come back from the dead to explode again. And again. And again.

I'm going to make each island individually on dry land and save them as MCedit schematics, then place them according to a full overworld map in a giant, bedrock-deep ocean. Editors are your friends.
A couple things. There's no grass, no reeds, and no cactus, so if you want seeds reeds or cactus you have to go sailing for them.
After you've got all 3 tree's harvested, and the coal at the top and bottom of the one wall you can see right off the bat there's no real clue about where to dig. I tried digging around the 3 tree's but didn't find anything under them. I looked over the edge along the walls on the outside and nothing. So now I'm digging at random. Digging at random isn't really a challenge, or much fun, it's just annoying.
And you can see land off in the distance. I would suggest making your map more then just the initially spawned area you start with and extend the sea out several spawn lengths so as to keep more of a survival feel.
edit: after several days I have lit up the entire upper portion of the map, but I still don't hear any mob noises anywhere. So there's no open spaces anywhere near the top for mobs to spawn in. I have drilled down and through and across in various area's, all without finding anything other then stone and a handfull of coal. No sand, no dirt, no gravel, no iron.

1. This is my first map so give me a little break.
2. I did put iron within the reef, just dig more, afer you hit the layer of 2 dirt you'll find caves.
3. Doesnt dirt grow to grass?
4. I dont see any point in cacti.

I've yet to try a survival map, but I think it would really be helpful for at least one (more can grow) cactus there.
it helps fend off against monsters by making the ability to make "barbed" fences.
also, grass only grows on dirt if there is neighboring grass. To quote Sniper from a picture he had made: "A map that starts off with no grass blocks will never ever have any."
I might add some grass blocks near the starting trees, but thats about it, after the dirt layer you reach unedited caves and such that even I have yet to explore, and theres no sand on the reef to put cacti on as the reef in zelda windwaker is a "Rock/Stone" Reef.
I present a short ~5 day journal from the beginning of my time on Cyclops Reef.
Day 1: I collect the wood and I go through the motions to gain some stone equipment. I used some pickaxes to start digging a spiral staircase into the central island. When I came up, with a little extra coal and some flint, it was night.
Day 2: I was not about to constantly jump into the water, especially at night, so I built four bridges connecting the central island to the outside ring, and built a two block bridge connecting the rest of the ring. I planted some trees and began a foundation to my house. I light up the entire surface area with torches to avoid mob spawning on land. A pig decided to keep me company. I killed him.
Day 3: I go back into the staircase digging project, and hit a decent sized cavern. It proves to be a boon of gold, diamond, iron, and obsidian. A death or two only slowed me down, as recollecting the material was easy enough after dying.
Day 3/4?: So Im down in the stairs and cave for a good long time, and lose track of exact days. I have a general gist though. I mine the last of the visible gold, and beat the **** out of a skeleton with redstone powder for kicks . Not only do I escape with my goods, most of my trees are growing or grown.
Day 4/5?: I decide its time to finish up a rough sketch house, and then take some pictures for you fine folk. Here's where I was at that time, and I hope to post again soon with the continuation!
The Bridges and my torched up ring
The Stairwell I built where most of my work was done
The Cavern of Goodies!
A Classic Slapdash House
My Sweet Lootz!
Thanks for the map! It has been fun so far! :biggrin.gif:

I'm currently hollowing out the center of the middle island, and am going to fence it in. I'll post a pic later.
