Questions:
1. Which type of armor is the most efficient to use?
1.1 Why should I use [MATERIAL] to make armor?
2. Any tips on how to use armor efficiently?
3. Are there any more types of armor coming up?
Steel is best. Leather is too weak, and Diamond is too rare and there are more important things. So, steel for 1. and 2. DO NOT FALL it will wear out your armor VERY QUICKLY. And I don't think there are any more armor types coming up..... (For now)

1. Diamond for the best security , Iron for the casual , Leather , for the weak. 1.1 Because you use it to make armor , silly <32. Don't random jump of cliffs , wastes armor points.
3. Chainmail , I think , something between iron and leather
Yes, but WHY would I want to make it out of that exact material? I.e, rarity V.S efficiency.
1. Which type of armor is the most efficient to use?
I would say iron. Once you get enough iron, it is very durable and easy to make.
1.1 Why should I use [MATERIAL] to make armor?
Iron is easier to acquire than leather or diamonds, for me anyway.
2. Any tips on how to use armor efficiently?
Only put armor on when you expect a fight. You don't want your armor to take damage from something so stupid as a fall.
3. Are there any more types of armor coming up?
I couldn't say for this, refer to other posts.
I think you're over-thinking it Diamond is the best but the rarest, Iron is the next best bet, espcially since the new updates have iron spawning like a bad rash all over my worlds :tongue.gif:
All armor provides the same defense, it's a question of how long it lasts.
If you have an animal killing trap, leather is fine because you're not using ore. You'll just have to replace it more often.
If you have iron to spare, go with iron, because it lasts a reasonably long time and iron is fairly plentiful.
Gold provides the same durability as leather, so don't bother.
Diamond is the most durable, but I tend to hoard my diamond for tools. If you have a surplus though, go for it, but it's far less painful to lose a set of iron armor due to falling in lava, than to lose a set of diamond armor.
Also, agreed that you should store your armor when not in use. I have a chest with armor and weapons near an unexplored cave system beneath my house. Each time I go to explore a bit more, I suit up.

Yeah, I was wondering if this is what caused all this iron to spawn EVERYWHERE I go...
If you have excess leather, then for cave exploring use leather and pack a stack of hides with you to make more leather armor as needed. How to get excess leather is to have an above ground mob trap.
1. @ Blade_N This game is made of IMAGINATION, he can call the damn material whatever the hell he wants, so please don't be like everyone else who thinks they 'Know it all'. I actually call it steel too.
2.Iron is the most 'efficient' to use because it's not rare at all, dig down 10 blocks and you can find it. Sometimes even at sea level.
3.No, I'm not listing the same as the OP so shut the hell up.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
