Having the video show in the post isn't really fixing it, as videos play very poorly on this forum, and it is widescreen anyway, so gets cut off.
Mobs swim now. The easiest solution I see for this to push the spring blocks back so they don't flow into the hole, add new source blocks one layer down in the hole, and replace the top several layers with glass around the water in the hole.
There is also a way to make them swim up into a drowning tube, but I haven't tried it.

Yeah, but I fixed it. It works on every single mob... just spiders take longer.
I say make a hole in the middle, have the stream continue under ground then have the stream flow by some catcti to kill the mobs and have the stream continue so you can get the dropped goodies.
