I used this technique :3 The background Texture is actually from Oblivion, I was just playing around with the custom loading screen tut with my map because I wanted to see what it would turn out like, then I kind of got a bit carried away with it.

Gimp or Photoshop?
Sure its Gimp .
Photoshop :B Gimp hates my tablet.
I'm going to build a proper above ground city on the hill next to my Mob-O-Matic. I made a list of buildings that I must include. :biggrin.gif: I'm definitely using opcy's roofing method, it looks absolutely fabulous, inside and out.
Picture is pretty self-explanatory i think. Do you think my predictions are correct? (Hint: the light green and light blue that looks fake around the border of the picture.)
Picture Details:
Legend says that the long ago a lake beast was killed in the Red River. Thats where the name came from.
The Three Swamp got its name from its shape.
Do you think the "Ruins?" are really ruins, or a map glitch?
Valley of Life is a lush, beautiful valley with alot of trees and open land.
Forest of Perfection is an un-touched forest.
Sea of Hope got its name when I was lost, and I hoped to find my base again. :laugh.gif:
Mississippi River is named that because I live near it IRL and it is awesome.
Sea of Dreams got its name for all of the explorers who dream of minecraft. (last night i had a dream I found a diamond vane, but someone stole it first and killed me with a diamond sword. )
My base has a main room, and a lighthouse ontop. Outside there are 2 types of farms: Wheat Farm and Pig Farm. Inside there is also a crafting room, with 6 furnaces and 6 work benches. There is also an infinite water source. In the other room, there are 3 large chests full of materials. The first one is half full of bread and half full of grilled pork. The next one is various items. It has everything crafted or uncrafted, but it isn't needed for crafting. (ex. dirt, minecart, bucket, tools, etc.) The next large chest has crafting materials, such as iron, wood, cobblestone, coal, sticks, wheat, and sand (makes glass).
The ruins are pretty self-explanatory. They are the rooms hidden underground with mossy cobblestone, chests, and monster spawners.
The "Uncharted Areas" are places I have yet to explore.
Lava lake is a lavafall that pours into a lakebed full of lava.
The giant slab of stone is a huge area of stone that is full of iron, coal, and sometimes I can find some gold.
The Islands of Markus are dedicated to the creator of Minecraft. They are some beautiful islands, and I have not fully explored them yet.
Hi there I got a little Wooden Base, too I will start Building a Stone Fortress ,soon
Red my Main Base I got all things I need at the Roof top , when Mob's would come in my Base somehow
Green my Harbor Bridge its the longest Bridge ive ever builded in Survival
Black my Farm Building behind the glass are many Crops
Yellow my Newest Building its not very Big but I plan to make it Bigger than my Main Building
The Buildings also are connected through a Underground Tunnel when there are Minecraft with Engines it will be the fastest way to travell.
when MPS comes out i will probably have a field day burning down peoples houses made of wood before someone else does(and before they have too much time invested into their wood house), just to make it obvious that building with wood is a VERY BAD IDEA.

Matt, seriously, stop trolling. So can you please shut the **** up and go troll the infdev forums about how much you want to get 10 bucks from your hobo house?

Hahaha...takes griefing on an entirely new level. Oh noes...
Light blue line in the First Base area indicates extent of First Base.
First Mine's entrance inside First Base. I have no idea where the First Mine leads to...kind of went in random directions...but that "Shaft to Spider Killing Machine and part of First Mine" thing is all the way down near the bedrock/adminblocks (that point is also almost right next to the very first mob-spawner ruins I encountered (not the spider spawner...come to think of it, the spider spawner ruins is almost directly above the first spawner ruins x])).
Behold, that is the extent of my base. I don't build extravagant structures. I prefer function. That's why the base structure is mostly sand. Plus I wanted to see what it would be like. Pretty cool actually.

Thnx for the tutorial dude, I got myself a nice google background of my new world
Quick question! How do I get this isometric imager thing or what do you do? Please tell because it is so freaking annoying not knowing how to do isometric images.

Talent didn't go anywhere, it just gets lost in all the noise. You have to find it.

The map speaks for itself pretty well.
I've updated the Floating Continent with more saplings, some signs, a few stairs, and a couple other things since this picture, though.
would it be OK with the OP if people started posting in-game screenshots of the better parts of their bases to accompany the isometric shots?
I wanna see closeups of some of these more complex buildings.
Wow, is that a chunk error or did you hollow out that entire lake?
I'm pretty sure that's caused by the chunks because it's the right size to be made by them.

Also, here's a larger map of my home (probably needs to be opened in a separate window, it's pretty big)
The little island with the bridge connecting to it is my spawn point.

My Infdev map
Black: Spawn area, I leveled out most of it to build a house.
Red: Greenhouse thing maybe? Idk what they're called but it grows plants.
Yellow: Lookout tower
Blue: Small base I started with. Connects to multiple mines.
