I finally made a video giving a short tour of my most recent project, "Creeper Cathedral"
Its spliced together from several 30 second Fraps recordings, so it is at times a bit choppy (sorry).
EDIT: I skipped the travel through the nether section and simply spliced the departure to the nether and arrival from it together. My portals don't actually directly connect like the video makes it seem. :smile.gif:
Now the real question is, how should I finish the interior? The exterior is done, but there is a huge amount of work left on the inside, and I haven't even begun work on the crypt....
Looks awesome. Which portal mod do you have, or how did you built it..
Most likely he just edited out the travel time in the nether

Precisely what I did actually. While I am quite proud of my completely legit portal system, it really isn't very interesting to watch the game load the nether, walk 13 meters to the next portal, and then load the real world again. :smile.gif:
As for how it was built, I constructed the entire tower section and main part of the nave without cheats. Unfortunately, the building was actually rotated 90 degrees to the right when I started building it. I underestimated the size by a significant factor and soon found myself running out of space. ( and when I say soon, I mean like 35 meters in... my spacial reasoning skills are somewhat lacking ) I had to use MCedit to clear out space, and then used it again to duplicate the two cross arms of the building.
The construction was exceptionally dangerous even on peaceful, as anything above the first line of windows is fatal fall distance. Thank heavens for shift sneaking! The cobblestone I legitimately obtained and used came from two attempts at mob traps that, while productive, fell short of my expectations. Sand was gotten from the coast near my aqueduct system and constantly turned to glass in the little brick building near the cathedral.
The portals are legitimate, and are the result of a great deal of experimentation when the update was released. I encased the nether side area in cobblestone to prevent Ghast attack. :smile.gif:

How did you do that thing with the portal? Did you skip the part where you went through the Nether?
Yes I did, loading screens are boring.
Nevermind. Forget it
Please, no creepers near Creeper cathedral sir. Dispite the homage being paid to them, they are a bit rough on the hardwood. :tongue.gif:
WTB save! :biggrin.gif:
If you are referring to how I got a portal connected correctly in my cathedral, I have all the information on how to do that here
...by the way, your portal room looks bigger than 5 x 5 x 5. /me smells eventual trouble with Ghasts xD
THE GHASTS HAVE INFILTRATED THE CREEPER CATHEDRAL!
(Sorry for the randomness. xD)
