Then just place some kind of Lava floodgate on the left, and a pressure plate. Then when the mobs fall in, they get burnt to death. This has to be manually re-rigged each time, but the idea to me is that you can see the light from anywere if something goes in. You can get creative with this too.

I ahve MADE THE MOB trap made it myself by my own design if u want pics just ask (I used MCedit for the spawners cos the room wasn't big enough but if u don't hav it make a long dark room for them too spawn in.Thats if u want the pics)
Or put dirt on the ground put down some irrigation and make a wheat farm some torch light
Or put down the dirt without the irrigation light it up a lot and make a animal ranch (cows,sheep,chickens)
That's what i do with rooms like that :-)
Then ill name some mobtraps, and everyone else probably will as well
