Hello all, I have a nice base set up, but I want to make a house at my spawn point, because it sucks walking a long way to my base. I have a couple chests, filled with tons of items. They are almost full. I need to move these chests to my spawn point though... Since all my stuff wont be able to fit in my inventory, is there a way to get them to my spawn point? If i smash it will it stay intact? Or will my stuff fall out?
i suggest if you dont really want to move you could make a spawn jail for yourself so if you ever die you dont get raped. i have one cause i made a house by my spawn point but still get RAPED every time i die at night so i made a little house so i can be protected from all the monsters. that might be an alternative to moving but i hate when people give me the opposite of the answer i want so another thing you could do is just empty your current inventory then break chests and move them one at a time
Just make a system of track and boosters from your spawn to your house. When I die I just jump in a cart and am home in about 20 seconds. The I shove the cart back the way I came and the boosters reset and the cart is waiting for my next death.

This is a good solution. Especially if you're considering laying the track to push your stuff back, then do this instead.
Just remember that for sending the empty cart back to your spawn it takes a LOT more booster power to push an empty minecart. The booster I built to send my spawn-house cart back the ~50 blocks to my spawn point also serves to send me in a minecart ~600 blocks to my next base.

...this is a great idea. It also made me realize something about how to use boosters that makes me feel like a raging moron. :sleep.gif:;
i wish we could just carry them around, hmmm mabye ima post at suggestions
I really doubt that would ever be implemented. There would be no point to having a main base. Just pack up and take everything to your next mining area. And there would be the problem of carrying infinite amounts by putting chests inside chests.
The minecart-chest(s) idea is a good one. Also there's nothing that says you can't put down something like 32 track pieces, push the cart(s) from one end to the other, then go back pulling up 31 pieces, and then lay them back out in front, and repeat until at your destination.
Of course if you manage to find enough iron, it is preferable to make the tracks all the way from A to B.
Thanks.
So is there a good way to transport it?
All you can do is empty one chest into your pockets and make the journey. Any leftover items should be kept in another chest for another trip.
Sounds like some kind of sick endless cycle.
dont need tracks if your pushing
Can you push them up hill without tracks?
Pretty sure not. :tongue.gif:
Use one track and keep pushing all of them in a line.

Thanks! :biggrin.gif:
Can't he just change where his spawn point is via MCedit or something? That way he doesn't need to rebuild anything.
zZZzzzZzzzz... huh what? Sorry I fell asleep in the middle of that comment. Lemme just finish it...
Sure, he could do that... but wouldn't building an elaborate minecart system and spawn point shelter be more fun?
