Seeing all the survival/exploration/building series' out there, I decided to make my own. I'm calling it "I'm on the road again..." because what I'll be doing is slowly progressing through my map, creating one big, transcontinental road. this road will be bordered with various small towns. the road will be built as follows:
City Road:
Country Road:

[] []
Rules:
-Normal mode (no exceptions)
-All legit
-Village can't exceed 40 blocks from road
-"city roads" (wool lines) are exactly 35 blocks long
-"country roads" (no lines) are exactly 50 blocks long
-Village may not pass into "country" territory (exception: mines)
-I may not make changes to past towns upon my return (exceptions: repair damage to road, withdraw from chests)
-In the country, I may only build the road, and alter terrain to fit the road (Overnight, I must return to the previous town to hide)
-If I encounter water, I will make a bridge
-If water prevents construction of city, I will replace it with a small dock, protruding from the road.
-I have up to 1 in-game week to complete a city. (exception: if I somehow find myself without enough materials to complete the road. OR, If later I decide 1 week is not sufficient.)
WEEK 1 DAY 1
Here is my spawn point.
Setting difficulty to Normal. Later in the images I will have fog on to reduce lag.
I dug a small trench to indicate the position and direction of my spawn point.
Ooo! A cave! I wonder what rests inside... I don't have sufficient recourses/armor/weapons to go exploring yet.
Gathering Cobblestone to begin construction on road and buildings.
Here's the first portion of the road. It's getting late, so I'm going to begin working on a starting building.
Oh no! It's gotten too late and I haven't built a sufficient shelter. I guess I'll just have to settle for a hole in the ground...
Hmm.. seems there are no mobs out tonight... Better stay covered anyway.
Day 2
Ahh... A new day! Time to start constructing the village.

Questions:
-Should I change/add any rules?
-Should I create more of a storyline?
-Any suggestions?
you already did. Imm kinda confused. Are you putting 35, then a village, then 35, etc.?
If i understand correctly, that 35 can have a town built on it. After that 35, he goes 50 blocks of country road, then he gets another 35 blocks of city road. This is just my interpretation though, and may be wrong.

There was a man who feared not the reaper
He dug in the earth ever deeper
Diamonds of his
Were lost, with a hiss
There is a man who now fears the creeper

It's goind to look like this:
[up to 35 block long city, with road down the middle][from 40-50 blocks of no city, just road, called the country][city][country][city][country]etc...
EDIT: Ninja...
Oh, and also, I started Day 2, but my computer's getting really laggy, so I'm going to take a break for today. I hope to achieve at least an in-game day per day IRL, if not more.
If your computer is laggy try this free software called game booster (google it) It disables unessacry processes at the click of a button which frees up more RAM.
