The cobblestone generator is because flowing lava hitting water makes cobblestone. Thus, setting up flowing lava (which is infinite) to hit flowing water (which is infinite) = infinite cobblestone.
There's no "flowing iron ore" or "flowing diamond ore" that can do that.
Well, I suppose you COULD modify minecraft.jar and make flowing lava produce iron ore instead, but if you're going to that trouble, see my first line.
oh so that is why. Thanks for telling me. I'm not sure if I will use the editing stuff though since it is kind of like cheating and the generators don't seem like cheating as much so thanks for telling me.

-Build inside the Void
-Find a Slime dungeon
-Mine Adminium
If you can't do all of these then you will never be able to make an iron generator. Ever.
