I think the concept of a more random update actually helps prevent the possibility of server crashes due to overloads (although it happened anyway, but that's just sheer numbers).
Think of it this way: if he got rid of the secret Friday updates and replaced them with larger planned updates, do you think that less people would log in for the scheduled update as opposed to the random one?
You need to read my post again:
Note to Notch:
Forget about Secret Friday Updates.
Update at random without any warning, weekly, fortnightly, or whatever, and avoid this situation.
You're actually agreeing with what I said.
Krush.
Yeah, I did that and edited. Sorry. I got like four hours of sleep last night.
So after DAYS of anticipation, we just get crouching and a bloody fishing rod? I'm disapointed....
Come on man have some respect, Notch is pretty much doing this all by himself whilst trying to launch a company. There aren't too many developers that work as closely with their fan-base in making a game enjoyable so appreciate what you get when you get it.
Oh. My. Dog. I need to invest in a better server solution RIGHT AWAY, like next week! Please be patient while the server tries to keep up with sending out all the updated clients!
I guess he forgot to do something... Maybe he'll learn someday. :biggrin.gif:

Not working atm, and will not get updated in the near future, sorry.
Ugh, too many are complaining about the failed biomes, at least he is working on it.
And I guess if we are lucky we might get them in three weeks or so.
Everyone reading this post: turn off Minecraft, and reply to this post. Then get focused on a conversation and realize that quite a bit of time has passed, then figure out that the server is magically back because of the unstoppable progression of TIME.

From his description they are very close to being implemented, the problem is just... implementing them... in a way that isn't an eyesore. I cannot wait. :biggrin.gif:

but i cant even find any fish!!! argh!!!
Well, I can't even effing update so you're a step ahead of me lol.
I am disappointed too. He even delayed the update a day just to tell us he failed. He should have just not released the update until it was done, even if that meant holding out another week. I would much rather wait and get a good update than get an immediate one with little in it.

Indeed, a little bugfixing here and there, finalizing the design, etc and we're good to go!

Or a feather. (The finished pole does look like it has a feather on the end.
............
yes because fishing poles have a feather at the end and not an iron hook.
That's actually awesome for doing fast kills with the bow and arrow.
I like.
