I think more technologically advanced things should be added, there's already a locomotive minecart, maybe find a way to turn it into a mining drill to dig tunnels?
And we already have access to explosives and metal, the basics to make a gun.
Any other things you'd like to see?

Tree punchers. Everyone knows you use a pickaxe for rock, not your fists.
Drill is a maybe, but not minecart drill. That would be overpowered. Maybe just something that cuts rock faster than just a pickaxe. But it would be made of like, a stick, redstone, and a couple flint or pickaxes. It wouldn't be too much powerful, just a bit faster than the pickaxe you used.
