Actually MissingNo. just adds 128 to the 6th item's quantity. Most people use rare candies or masterballs.

MissingNo. only knows Water Gun, Water Gun, and Sky Attack (and whatever moves you teach it). It does not at any point learn a Super Glitch move like some other glitch pokemon in R/B. The effect you're discribing only comes after Cooltrainer *female* attack or a Super Glitch move.
Also, MissingNo. does not crash the game (unless it's the Yellow MissingNo. then it has a chance to)
