This glitch occurred randomly as I was digging in sand and admiring the falling graphics.
The computer froze completely, but the music in the background ran unaffected. A few seconds later, lag stopped but something happened to controls. I can only turn in the y-axis (looking up and down only), and I can jump and use mouse1. I can't build blocks, turn around, or even move.....
I loaded up a different save file, and it runs perfectly there. Now I'm confused and annoyed that I won't be able to test out minecarts on my main save :sad.gif:
- Digging directly below you (square your standing on) dosent show the breaking animation.
- Sometimes if you place a block near another block, glitches the blocks around it. (Example Below)
- If you get too close to a block ( like too close to the wall ) it glitches and shows the breaking / non breaking overlaying eachother.
EXAMPLE
Found a wall like this(TNT = Air)
Placed a Stone block next to wall like so and that happens

Any ideas?

I can dig only directly below me.
This has happened to me about 3 times. It seems to whenever an update comes out and I'm still playing (not sure?)
Anyway, what I did the first time, is wait for a monster to kill me. (This happened when Notch first added the mobs in InFdev) It worked fine after I respawned
The second time, I actually managed to drown myself.
The third time, I created a chest below me, put all my items into it, and deleted the level.dat file in my saves folder. Now if you do this, and load up your game again, it will say it's empty, but it's not. Create a new file there and you will spawn at your old spawn point. From there you can just go back to your chest and pick up all your items.
Now, if you've already dug too much, or cannot make a chest, just delete the level.dat file, you'll lose your items, but it's a small price to pay, to be able to play.
PS, you should also be able to dig straight up too :smile.gif:
Hope I could help, I know it got me so angry when I though I had to start over, and it's a very evil glitch. Good Luck!

Thank you so so much! I fixed the glitch. Thank goodness I always have a crafting table and chest on hand. Minecarts were fun to push around. Once again, thank you!

The way i ended up fixing it was setting the game on hard, waiting for a mob to come, and kill me; letting me re-spawn with full control once more.
Hope that helps at least a little bit :]
spawncurrent location (if you know how)plus it saves anything you have on you
