Hopefully by the weekend we will have a website to call home to make sense of the order. I was thinking about having a checkin/checkout system where it is first come first serve. I'd keep a limit to how long someone has until they forfeit their turn and someone else can start working with the map.

This looks interesting. I'll take a turn pretty soon, if you don't mind me jumping in. I haven't posted much on the forums, but I frequent IRC, like CrazySpai.
So, how many days do we get ingame? Someone said five, is that right?

There's a better way to do this so that it's structured and everything, and that involves a list of who is up and who's going next, Basically like this thread. When one person's turn is over, the OP PMs the next person on the list and lets them know it's their turn. They then have two real-life days to complete their turn or they are skipped and the list moves down to the next person. You have five ingame days (a day is when the sun is directly above you, to night, to day again) to do whatever you want to as long as it's productive, and you post the save, and what you did (images help), and the next person takes their turn. As much as the OP wants to go with a first-come, first-serve basis, it really doesn't work at all ever.
Well, I'm going to take a turn now. Assuming five days, since two people have said that, as opposed to one for three.
Will post some screenshots as I play. Should be done in the next few hours. Move on if I'm not done in five hours, I guess.

I think waiting two days would be way too long for it to be fun, especially given how short five days is. Should see how the first-come-first-served system works before dismissing it, as it is much faster and simpler.
Done my turn. Wasn't really sure how many days passed, but I think it was about five, plus or minus two.
Stuff I did:
Started digging mine shaft around central stalactite
Reinforced front wall
Dug small mine stair deeper, shifted entrace to the left a bit
Spread out the saplings so they would actually grow
Made a very small tree farm in the cavern
Started a small lookout on top of the interesting almost-floating island to the southeast
Mined some iron, coal from cliffs
Explored to the north, found a massive overhang with huge coal veins on the bottom. Did not mine them.
Started building a huge treasury room at the rear entrance of the cave. Door is dirt, marked with two torches
Made a little gate in the front wall with stairs down to the water. Maybe someone could build a bridge to the next island off of this.
I think "first come first served" means the first person to actually be playing it... I don't see any reason to arbitrarily stop everyone else from playing while you sleep, since Minecraft is a pretty global community. That is, it's daytime for a number of people while you sleep.
More importantly though, there's no real reason to stop others from playing it if you fear 'losing your place,' since turns only take a few hours real time. The only way turns would take longer would be if people did the sort of thing you are doing now; claiming a turn for some point in the future. If you don't plan on playing the save the day you post, please don't post. It just holds up everyone else, without actually having any real benefit for you.
See, this is why a sign-up list is better. To prevent confusion on whose turn it actually is.
This method would work fine if someone didn't reserve their turn a day before actually going. Anyone who wants to go now should just take a turn. No reserving of turns.

First come first serve basis from now on!
So the next person who wants to go, just go. Ignore the person who "reserved" their turn.

It wouldn't be if people would READ THE RULES. This method could work really nicely it's just that people keep posting stuff like this:

I'll go after riverchen. Gonna go offline soon but I don't think he's gonna post it today anyways, will download what there is around 3-4 pm GMT. If someone thinks they can finish and upload before that, go before me.

I'm making the next turn.
Please don't steal it.
EDIT: late night. Starting tommorrow.
The new rule is:
YOU CAN ONLY HOLD THE FILE FOR 3 HOURS
Meaning that as soon as you start downloading the file you post and say you are playing it. Then after or before 3 hours are up you re-upload the map.

Seems like a good rule. You should edit into your first post in this topic, so people will read it.
