Hi, I just got Minecraft and I'm really getting into the game and I was wondering about multiplayer games.
I want to join a multiplayer server and play the game with some other people, but I can't figure out how to.
Ive inputted the I.P. address but its just CONNECTING TO SERVER all the time.
Could somebody who knows what is going in this game explain this system of connecting to me in lamens terms?

Haven't experienced that problem myself. Is it stuck at the "connecting to server" message?

If it says "Connecting to server"
then a couple seconds later says
"Connection timed out: Connect" then you have the wrong IP address.

I hope this is right..

The server you are trying to join has crashed in a sense but is still running in a sense, this has happened to my server before and only stops when i reset it. try another server to join, if you cant join any server, then maybe your firewall is blocking you and you should make an exception in your firewall rules.

Sounds like you need to open the port for minecraft in your firewall.
