Australian Minecrafters are finding it rather difficult to find a host atm, so me and my mates decided to set up our own server. It's probably cheaper aswell for those who are considering it, runs about 20/20 smooth
They're not a registered company, I'd avoid them...
Then why is the link broken? Can't seem to bring em up.
I can't decide!! UGH
allgamer.net (1gb price is fine, 2gb price is rapage.. $30 more! ooof butthurt)
or www.nfoservers.com (bandwith limits and im not sure if I will run into them and same 2gb butthurt)

The 1gbps connection is fun to play with at nfoservers, though.
I just cancelled my sub to NFOServers.com and went to AllGamer.net.
NFO Servers are pretty great, but they're not meant for Minecraft in any way, it's just a waste of money.
Thanks, we do our best to provide great performance and customer service.

first and foremost let me just say if your a mildly intelligent person it wont take you long to realize hazeNet is ****.
i have been using them for the last 3 months and the support guy is as useless as tits on a bull the server seems to just disapear for no reason and theres nothing i can do to get it back online. i have to message support and get him to fix it and that usally takes most of a day because he is a little fat kid that sits in a dark corner playing with him self all day long.
Ask them about PRIVVMPAGES. Hint: They limit the amount of ram accessible to java. A fraction of what you pay for.
Add mr colin to your msn, and talk with him about what you need. You'll get a hell of a deal I got mine for about 50% of the market price.
My beast server specs are:
4 e5530 cpu cores. equilevant of a 2.9 quadcore
16 gig burst ram, with half of that dedicated to me.
100/100 mbit connection. 1 TB bandwith (can be upgraded at anytime i wish for free. and no extra charge)
200 gig hdd, (can be upgraded at anytime i wish for free. and no extra charge)
All this for 95$ per month?. BEAST. Go get it.
R U related to Colin Dunn ? LoL.
You have an unadvertised custom server, call him Mr Colin, and have his msn. Honestly, it'd be weird if you weren't related.
Most people are experiencing abysmal results with hazenet, myself included. I got 3 different answers to the same question. A tech said "we have limited the usage.", a senior admin told me "Just go read Notch's document ion and you'll figure out why it is so resource intensive." and Mr Colin said "it's not our problem as other users have been able to fix the issue themselves with some sort of workaround."

What's the problem? Hazenet seems cool. 2048 package, server is always up, I never feel any lag and I'm also using it as a Seedbox.
Granted I am kind of a nub with these things. And I suppose it should be noted that I don't have more than 5 people on at peak times.
I made a ticket asking about how to launch the server upon boot and the guy seemed completely useless, so I googled, got my answer and figured it out for myself.
In a nutshell: They restrict the amount of ram Java can use, mine was restricted to ~100mb, The CEO is either clueless or not truthful about it, they have extremely poor customer service/quality assurance, and OpenVZ is awful at handling Java.
The problem is that HazeNet uses privvmpages to reduce the ram available to Java and doesn't tell you. The CEO denies doing it, instead insisting that it isn't their problem. The Senior Admin I had the pleasure of dealing with was a condescending asshole when I asked for the limit to be removed. They think it's OK to silently restrict the resources you pay for, that's a Big Problem.
I have the 2048 package, with 1TB @ 100mBit, and there is lag when I'm the only player on a small map. That's after they supposedly increased the privvmpages limit. I'm not the only one, look at all the people on this forum with negative experiences. That certainly says something isn't right.
If you want to host some files, or even run a web server, they might be a hair to positive side of a POS meter. I question their longevity though, as I know many people who've dropped them but not one person who's signed up.
citricsquid, can you elaborate on 'They're not a registered company'? Registered where?
Of course, this is just 1 experience. Maybe they dropped the ball and I was the only customer affected. If you have had a good experience with them, great. That's how it should be. The main attraction to Hazenet is their extremely low price, and you get what you pay for.

I use Hazenet too. the 3GB/6GB Burst plan and I haven't had any issues with them. My server uses 2.7gb and it's been up and running stable for the last 3-4 days. I haven't had to contact them for a single issue. The only thing I had to worry about was not overusing the 3GB allocated or else they will kill your process, but that is all. Hazenet has been great to me!

Hm, I see. Thanks for your review. Good thing I only signed it for one month <_<, hopefully I'll have no reason to switch.
I'm not a 'business' per se, but I can hook you (or anyone else) up w/ a real dedicated server (single proc, 1.5GB, 2TB, 100mbit, centos, webmin) for $65/mo. PM me if interested (and remove this post if not allowed).
I used to work for Rackspace and I'll tell you to stay as FAR AWAY from Rackspace Cloud as you can...its run all sorts of funky and the support isn't very good.
That being said, Slicehost, another Rackspace affiliate has AWESOME support, their CPs are easy to use, and you can get going very fast.
Clinton here from AllGamer.net was cool enough to up my RAM 256 and dedicate it to TeamSpeak 3, granted they only setup Mumble initially because it's a free license, so I decided to snag a Non-Profit license with infinite slots and hand them the license file to install onto TS3.
So I now have 4GB dedi to Minecraft and 256 to TS3 on the server.

To be a company in England you have to register with companies house, it costs a few hundred £ overall and you're then covered legally for a lot of things, they also give you a company number for reference.
For example, we (forum + wiki) formed a company to handle the sites and you can find us by searching "redstone wire" or the company number "07393581" however if you search for "hazenet" they don't show up, neither do they display a company number on the website.
It's not the end of the world if they're not a registered company, but it does mean they're most likely a teenager in their bedroom with other responsibilities like school, things that you don't want someone running a company to have. If it was me I'd steal well clear, it's very easy to start up a hosting "company" with $100 and time to kill, but to maintain a company properly you need to be able to dedicate time and money to it, something that I don't think this guy could if he's not even bothered to register as a proper company, which protect himself and customers.
I registered two VPS's with Hazenet.co.uk, one for a different game called baboviolent which I still have hosted with them and perfectly happy, the other for minecraft which lagged like crazy and I ended up canceling and getting a refund. They lived up to their commitments with me I just decided their servers couldnt handle my minecraft, so overall I would give hazenet a 3/5 stars. There are a ton of vps providers out their and you would be doing yourself a disservice not to research a couple before making a decision. I know I spent alot of time at webhostingtalk.com to figure out the right server for me. also lowendbox is a good website if you are looking for cheap hosting with around 256-512 ram.
Dragon Cave Name: Tykov
I highly recommend these too for Minecraft servers.
