really dude it is notch's game and he decides and you don't deserve to criticize him. Why don't you code a game that has the features you like.
LMAO
So, people can't criticize what they didn't make? LOL

Notch said that Biomes will be bigger, stop trolling and moaning and complaining that your life isnt perfect.
So, complaining about what he sees as a problem is trolling and it means that his life isn't perfect. Seems like you're doing the trolling here, sport.
I do agree that biomes will be more believable when they get bigger; however, tiny biomes will be so ridiculous as to make the game entertaining.
I wonder if Notch has a system for deciding which biomes border which others? It doesn't make sense for a rainforest to be bordering a tundra. It would also be nice for colder biomes to occur at higher elevations. This would make it more believable. Though speaking of believability, permafrost in the tundra might be a blow to the gameplay.
I did look at his chart but had trouble with some of the scribbling, so if I missed anything about locating biomes, let me know.
Relax, kid. No one needs your permission. Or are people going to start getting banned for complaining, now?
That would actually be great.
Notch has stated time and time again that the individual biome areas will be larger on the 31st release, and he's a developer that listens to his userbase feedback, so I'm sure that if they aren't huge enough he'll make it so, or provide an option to control the size of biomes themselves when creating a map.
Maybe it's just me, but I think it's silly to complain about the details of a feature while it's still in "alpha". There is plenty of room for everything to be changed, and I'm sure he would change if there was significant user feedback.
But I'm sure somebody has already said that :ohmy.gif:
But then, why complain now if you can only see from trailers and not from actual play. Would be better to wait until you've played it and know precisely what to say should be changed :tongue.gif:

and so I *****. Better to open your mouth and whine then to keep your silence and not be heard.
Still, you can do so in a respectful manner that doesn't insult the developer's work.
I expected better from a fellow Reboot fan. :sad.gif:
I paid 15 bucks for the game and play it almost every day.
So if I come across as disrespectful in words it certainly doesn't show in action.
Besides, its not like I said he ruined the game and demanded my money back. So i suck at diplomacy and kissing ass. I make up for it by being a loud-mouthed jerk!
You know, the guy's still developing the game. Why is it that someone offering input on the process is instantly called 'crying'? The input wasn't meant to flame or attack Notch, it's intent was to give feedback. If you want this game to remain fun as it's development continues, the importance of feedback is hard to understate.
That being said, Notch did say he was going to make biomes larger - but did not give any indication of HOW much bigger he would make them. I agree with others in letting him know that we would enjoy them being *MUCH* larger. If we don't let him know, how is he to know that this is what the community wants?
well if thats your motto I might as well borrow it.
I'd be happy if notch stopped this update of content and got to work on what the real issues are like the current state of the engine and how as the map expands so do your chunk curruptions, and how mine carts dont work in smp, how Redstone dont work well eaither. Just maybe get out of java and into C+ for better managed network code maybe as well.
The BIG stuff first DLC is for after a games out of alpha. That whole time he was making hell he could have patched up SMP silly bugs instead.
Actually, uhm, I had very large biomes on my map. I walked for two minutes, in a straight beeline, just to hit the end of my desert area. And then the forest? I dropped to 17 fps at "Tiny" rendering distance and "Fast" graphics mode. Literally hundreds of trees.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Proudly wanting Classic Alpha to truly become Survival Alpha. Mobs killing blocks, ridiculously powerful beasts, and insanely unfair gameplay. Classic Alpha is boring. I want SURVIVAL alpha! Eh? Eh? ***** all you want.
One HUGE point all of you seem to be missing. The game is in ALPHA. Hell, it isn't even beta yet, so why are you so concerned about what is lacking in a game that is still being developed? How many games have the rest of you played that have been open or closed beta? Were they finished? Did it help to rant and rave, and leave unhelpful criticism?
At this point in the WIP, criticism should always be constructive and HELP the creator (who, by the way, is actually listening to his community more than anyone I've ever seen) instead of just flaming him and anyone that disagrees with your opinion. Basically, instead of doing nothing but bitching and moaning in the official forums about things that have yet to be fully implemented, give proper "here's what I did and found good/bad and reasons why" kinds of posts to help speed the process along.
If you still feel the overwhelming urge to ***** or flex your epeen, go to an off-topic forum and rant away.

Relax, champ. How many alphas or betas have you ever had to pay for to get into?
There are a lot more out there than you might think. Starcraft 2 did it, tabula rasa, hellgate:london, MOH, a few RTS games. There are more, but I'm gonna be lazy. I could also point you in the direction of some MMO's that are asking people to pay for keys early so they can do exactly what notch is doing.
I am enjoying the content that was given so freely in the update. Notch already said he was planning on making biomes much larger and fixing all the things you said you are disappoint in. In my experience you will get no sympathy in expressing any doubts about Notch's plans and evil activities with minecraft on this forum. Just rather sit back and enjoy. I mean minecraft isn't really a 50$ game like starcraft2. It is an independent game developed by a very talented game artist. Sit back and enjoy or go learn to program your own games.
LMAO

Good. So, we paid for this and we should be able to complain about the development and suggest changes. Glad we're finally in agreement.
You just need to relax and enjoy them. Remember the game is still in Alpha, Notch can still do plenty of work with them.
