Well it really depends on mono for this now, as now the main thing for me to do is to get it running correctly in other OS's, as it runs native in Windows with cmd,
But i also beleive Mac is somewhat supported with mono, so it works for my Ubuntu, so 'should' work for mac via mono?
I only have Windows 7 & Ubuntu 10.04 at this point of time, and also my sevr (also Ubuntu -console only-), so i have not yet tested on a mac :sad.gif:
i'm also thinking of adding console support (non GUI)
I've actually started on a new verison, 3.0 infact, so i'll touch up 2.03 (or 2.10, depending on features) when i switch to windows 7. I'm testing the new one under Linux, so far console (non gui works great ;D), the new console is...very, fast xD
erm, it has support for both, opening with now arguments, opens the GUI, if you open with cmd "visualadmin.exe consoleonly" does the console only, everything else is GUI.
So you still have the GUI by default.
Edit:
I also have resolved the server ending issue, where sometimes java.exe would not close, should be fine now.
I have also started on the v3, which i might just stick to, to get it out faster, as new properties for minecraft_server.jar can be configured in C. Properties in the Server Properties form.
Perhaps I'm missing something here, but when I try and run Hmod from VA, the server properties are conflicting.
For example, in the VA server properties, I have monsters, PVP, and hellworld disabled.
when I start the server, Hmod tries to start up and throws an exception when reading the server.properties file.
From what I can tell, it's because Hmod uses different commands to enable/disable those options. It's actually appending my server.properties file with the Hmod properties and when it tries to read the file and sees the unknown commands, it refuses to load.
Any thoughts, or am I completely missing something here on how to run Hmod from within VA?
I beleive /reboot or #reboot is in there somewhere,
But sure, i will add that to the list.
v3 is a total rebuild ;D (from scratch)
So gimme a lil bit here, it's getting a major upgrade internally lol
So far i have seen insane performance upgrade, less bugs & majorly it's resolved its issuse about the java.exe sometimes staying alive.
So in total, 38 (in-game) commands are needing to be written, + then i have to do the GUI :tongue.gif:
Annd thennn, the console interaction for the non-GUI-ers, then ill have to test it out on mono.
I have also planned to document some of the main functions for plugins to use. (if i get time that is)
I've just managed to accept ports coming in, via my own method, and forward them to a local server, so i might be able to implement colours ingame very soon as well (and whatever else the minecraft server protocol allows me to, like time, messages etc)
But it maybe in a revision/major release after v3, since people wat their updates! ;D
No, it acts as it's own server, then forwards what it wants to the actual server itself, vice versa, You could say similar to MCAdmin, but like i said i used my own method, + Doridian made it as a firewall, whereas idk whether i will need that, i dont want to seem to copy what he has if you know what i mean...
I installed this wrapper in a new directory but my server properties button in the GUI is grayed out and if I click backup it only says "World settings are incorrect"? What am I doing wrong? :smile.gif:
That error means the program cannot find the 'World' to backup, which is in server properties, which is only grayed out when the server is started as you cannot really change the server as it is running. So yeh, this 'World' is a directory that may not even be there, to change it you need to managed to change the Level Name or save the server properties,
If the config is corrupt, try 'File -> Data -> Clear Config' and restart VisualAdmin and try to access the server properties, Also when you click the Server Properties button, does it show an error in the console window?
I've been running our servers for a few weeks now just using the command line and hey0 + mods, and I decided to give this a go.
I tossed it in a vanilla folder without a world generated, downloaded hey0 131 and craftbook to test with, changed the port to something that won't conflict with all the others and extended the firewall to cover it, and fired it up. Everything goes smooth until I try to login and get this 'no default group' error pasted below.

Did you use VisualAdmin to create it for you?
Killerrabbit:
Are you using the latest hMod and minecraft_server.jar?
I get that when hMod is out of date, or maybe it isnt directed to Minecraft_Mod.jar correctly in server properties?
Hey I have a server running on the latest hmod, I downloaded VA and dropped the exe in my /bin/ and gave it a go.
It kept the map and everything but there was no hey0 or plugins working.
Is this a todo or am I doing something wrong?
Cause I would LOVE to use this over cmd.
It has it's own config file (as in when you save server properties, server management etc), but it also 'hogs' the server.properties lol (if using server properties button)
maybe, try deleting minecraft_server.jar or trying one you know works, I have also just made a map with a few million tnt, destroyed it and, yeh, i cant start that server either, so maybe it could be a map thing too....(just suggestions of course :tongue.gif:)
"99% of my CPU" is very strange, unless the it's started what it needs to, but errors in the cmd, which may have been excluded from the console (fixed in v3)
But i also beleive Mac is somewhat supported with mono, so it works for my Ubuntu, so 'should' work for mac via mono?

Also, in va, the server properties, you have your boot server line set to ? Also make sure heyO Mode(Mod) is checked, and save.
Also the enable monsters and animals, are broken because notch changed the commands to toggle them. you hit C Properties to include
save the custom properties.
Also, your running heyo 128 right?
if not download from
128 is the latest version as of 11.29.2010
Server Auto RESTART EVERY X Hours
heyo has a plugin for auto restart. might use that til feature is implimented. assuming its approved.
But sure, i will add that to the list.

Once it's setup correctly you should see the hey0's Mod menu on the main form, add your plugins etc in there,
