I do own the game. However, do I get a different download if I login and then go to that page? Everytime I've been to that page I have not be logged in.
Does the provided download change depending on login?
can anyone upload their server package that DOES allow items, including their map, and give me a link to download it.
This way I can see if my files are coming from a server that have perhaps not been updated. This is rare, but can happen if Minecraft is using multiple servers to give downloads, he may have forgotten to update one.
My server folks really want items and none of us can figure this out.
Please upload your server that allows items to a website, then provide a download link so I can see if somthing is wrong on my end or if my files are wrong.
You have to be logged into the site in order to reach the downloads page, yes. Since the game is only available to pay players, the same goes for downloading it. Aside from the client itself, the server software is also there. If you need help sorting out the setup, there are guides in another forum on it, and also keep in mind that anyone you want to connect must also have purchased the game and be logged in.

I have paid. I have a server running. However, the server only provides players infinte blocks. How do I convert the server to allow players to make items?
You can't convert it, they're separate applications. On the download page which was provided above, you have to go to the very bottom for the "Minecraft alpha server software", and run one of those.

and that link says Alpha, but is only giving me infinite blocks. Wrong file linked by MineScape? Can you provide a known working server file system from your server to compare?
Server launches from the server file. Augmented through various server wrappers here in the SMD forum if you wish. Connect through the alpha page or the client by way of IP address entered manually. I'm not sure how you're still ending up on Creative mode...

So my bottom bar is bad. I do not want infinite blocks.
The other servers bottom bar is good. It supports items.
Where do I download the server to allow items to be made? Survival Multiplaer.
MUST ALLOW PLAYERS TO MAKE ITEMS.
Thank you.
This post is how he keeps getting to creative. It sounds like you are only connecting using creative and going to another server you have setup. You need to download the server from the page given, download the alpha CLIENT also. Run that, connect to your server, done. Stop using anything that's listed as creative.
I get an error message when I try to connect to my server:

Does my IP work for you?
I can run the game in a BROWSER using this link:
http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?serve ... 0dff0246a2
But then I only have infinite building blocks.
Any ideas?
Please test my IP from the Alpha Client real fast.
I suggest heading to the Survival Multiplayer Support forum to get this sorted.
