He's floating because a certain somebody (named Freack) killed him. When he joined people were bogging him down with questions (including me ~_~) Then he left because he had to go fix bugs

I figured that, but I can actually find a good server. That seems like a decent one.

The person who killed him wanted a golden apple in return. Also, I can hardly see how it was fake, before that guy killed him he was walking around chatting with people.

He was quite easy to kill though, all he did was stand on a tree

Maybe he hasn't added that to SMP, its new.
