Funny, because I am a furry, and 90% of the furry RP I stumble across, sex RP is forbidden. At least publicly. Obviously, the moderators of such things can't stop people from doing it privately. But my point is that it's highly unlikely to just randomly stumble into a furry sex RP session. You'd have to put some effort into it. Such as knowing exactly where to go on Second Life.
Hopefully not very. I grew up on starcraft around tons of rpers, and I can say that in the last 10 years they've gotten more and more redundant, to the point I avoid them completely. It's just been so sullied, hardly respectable anymore.

Roleplay, in starcraft?

Do not wallow do not stall
Time waits for none at all
Your allowance may crawl,
It may fly or even vanish
But none will seem more lavished
Than time lost to all.
--Warning, swearing ahead--
I think I just started a debate with no grey-zone >.<
The only good thing about this is that I can now have a legitimate reason to hate even more of the forum...
But seriously, what the ****? Why cant everyone just pretend like they dont care? Its not like its much effort...
I manage to turn a blind eye to everything I hate. But this has gone way too ****ing far... If everyone was as assholish as you guys, it would be world war, with no hope of peace.
Sorry for my language, but this is just....

I manage to turn a blind eye to everything I hate. You clearly demonstrate this in the fact you openly claim how humans are inferior to animals, and you said it in the most hostile way possible.
But this has gone way too ****ing far... If everyone was as assholish as you guys, it would be world war, with no hope of peace. You overreact!
Sorry for my language, but this is just....
Its because you need to realize, you must realize that you do indeed have burning hate for what you hate, being open about it i find more helpful, for example warning people you dont like furries should have people avoid showing their fur around me, as i do not wanna see your fur. Not to mention i can get away with saying more nasty stuff on the internet, so i minus well take advantage of that, right?
(P.S, take this through a P.M...)

Magic have a bigger priority than Technology when it comes to combat, but Mining and Crafting a bigger priority to Magic.
-NO- you should not take advantage of that!
Thats like if 'we' took advantage of some problem in a country by nuking it...
It doesnt solve anything
It makes everyone else hate you
It ruins the earth
for example warning people you dont like furries should have people avoid showing their fur around me
I dont like trolls
Does that solve anything?
no
you just make enemies that way... although what I said was too generic to be a good example.... ahhh......
forexample - I dont like uhh..... ... how about this, I hate people who play TF2 (Even though I dont...)
What does that accomplish?
Nothing
Do I make any friends by doing this?
no
What is the end result of this?
A huge community now hates you
And also, just because you can get away with something, does not mean you should do it
I have had many opportunities to steal really valuable stuff, with millions of other better suspects..
But do I steal it?
no
Because I am not an asshole.
And for that 'burning hate for what I hate', I HATE ASSHOLES LIKE YOU... but do I show that? no, I calmly respond with non-spite-lined words. This makes it so I dont get hated by the community, so I dont seem like an asshole, and so that I dont have some sort of hate-war going on, which would probably result in both of us getting banned, and we dont want that, right?
So, when is it appropriate to act how you act?
Thats what im wondering.
I would want to act like some psychopathic cybernetic alien around everyone, but i dont know if people would want that...
I guess i should check with a OP, right?

Im sorry, im under a great deal of stress IRL, so I tend to sometimes relieve my stress by trying to help SOMETHING....
EDIT - And when I post like this, I tend to go to the extremes.....
And actually, I dont really like RolePlaying
Ive only really role-played once, and I didnt like it
I plan on trying again when SMP is released though.....
So, is it right to believe one is always RP'ing in minecraft? You are playing as a character digitally, thus playing a role right?
Ugh.
Rather than dig up some ambiguous definition, I'll rephrase the question. Are you roleplaying being the anonymous know-it-all who ignores the obvious intended meaning so he can be a smartass? Am I roleplaying the exasperated OP of a topic that is getting heavily derailed? I don't think so, because that's just who you are right now (maybe all the time? not for me to say), and that's just who I am right now. I'm not consciously acting out a story by being tired of "too literal" questions like yours, that's what's happening. I consider roleplaying a conscious thing that one does.
You may disagree. Whatever, that's your opinion. Just know that in this topic, RPing refers to my definition, not yours.
Hopefully not very. I grew up on starcraft around tons of rpers, and I can say that in the last 10 years they've gotten more and more redundant, to the point I avoid them completely. It's just been so sullied, hardly respectable anymore.

i roleplayed more than i played seriously on starcraft.
I joined the forum for this very reason, discussing the possibilities of RP. Hell yes, I'm all for it. Honestly I come from a fairly serious RP community outside of Minecraft (Garry's Mod [[To clarify not that DarkRP bullshit]]).
I've got two years of experience under my belt, so I'm all for it. I need a refreshing new game for RP anyway, and currently this seems like the best pick.
I'm thinking that SMP would be a great way to roleplay that "4chan islands" thing.

The inquisitors were torturing Harry.
First, Ignatius used the rock.
Then Billy asked Harry if he wanted to read his BDSM blog. Harry was so surprised that his pants flew right off. He was wearing women's underpants. The inquisitors were wearing them, too.
The admin gave me some flint and steel, so I decided to go on a magical quest to Mount Doom to destroy it. I had my diamond sword, which would glow blue if a griefer was nearby, I had Sam, and of course, I had the flint and steel. Then we had an epicly long quest (5 mins) of me going into a tunnel and me tossing the flint into lava.
I will find a server, or servers, where people do some light RP (formulate a sort of character or role for themselves) but don't take it too seriously. Anywhere where people are reprimanded/banned for not staying in character, or for doing PvP, is too strict for me.

Also, from what I've seen:
SMP + MCF Members = RPing/srs bsns.
