It's been 12 days since I've asked for a refund, and now 3 of my tickets have been automatically closed because they don't respond within 72 hours. They took my server down, but haven't refunded my money yet.
I think some sort of legal action needs to be taken against these guys.

To everyone who is planning on ordering a server: Cominex servers is shutting down, so you can no longer order servers.
To everyone who has already ordered a server: The reason no one is responding to your tickets is because of staffing issues. However, they have a potential server company to take over, so you will if all goes well, your server will be up sometime in the very near future.
Here is the email I got from them:
Quote from Cominex Servers »
Dear Clients,
I am very sorry to inform you of the sad news, Cominex Servers are shutting down due to staffing and financial issues.
If you are still in a current billing cycle or awaiting a server, please hang in there as we have a potential server company to take you over without loss of any data on current servers, IP Changes, etc.
You will be informed in the very near future, In the mean time I am the only one in Cominex Servers right now so support tickets will not be replied to.
Please be patient and wait for the next email.
Hope this clears up any confusion people were having with ticket and support issues.
I would suggest everyone who has a server with them demand their money back. I have been fighting for 2 weeks now for a refund, and only tonight has the supposed CEO responded to my tickets.
Conveniently, this was just added tonight under the Minecraft Server order option...
"Note To Buyer: We Do Not Offer Refunds Under Any Circumstances On This Service"
I protested this saying it had not been there when I ordered this server weeks ago, and when I initially cancelled and asked for a refund weeks ago. I said that their shady business practices and non-existent customer support are testaments to the reason they are going out of business. This is then what he responded with...
"Look at the business end, what is more important to deal with...
$500 clients or $5/$10 clients...
exactly.
Kind Regards,
Dale Bothe
CEO - Cominex Servers "
This company, and Dale Bothe in particular, does not care about you. He just said so. He only wants your money, so he can not provide you service and then point at the no refund sign that he added in tonight. He also completely sidestepped the fact that he added in the no refund clause after the fact.

Why would you set up a business if you didn't want to make money? He was just being honest. Pretty much any company that says their top priority is your satisfaction is lying. Think about it - if someone offered you $500 to do a job, and if another person offered you $5/$10 to do a job requiring the same amount of work, which one would be your top priority?
Damn, all the other hosts are located for away from Australia.
The only other one I've found is AllGamer, who host in Sacremento, but that's still 170 ping!
Anybody know any other decent hosting companies that we Aussies should use?

I received the same email. There is a noticeable difference between setting up a $5 minecraft server and setting up a $500 business server, and you cannot compare the 2 as requiring the same amount of work.
If you are Company X, and you charge $5 for a service, but the service never gets done and then you have no customer support, you will lose that customer forever. However, if you charge $5 for a service and then make sure that the customer is satisfied, they will continue being your customers forever, and you have made a long term investment worth more than a short term large client.
The only way to make money is to have happy customers who will return, or steal from them and hope new customers come in to take their place.

I agree with you that the only way to make money is to satisfy your customers, but my point was that businesses simply use the strategy of making customers happy as a tactic to earn money.
I feel sorry for the people who bought your server cause you just dropped them like a rock is what my friend told me the other day!

I keep getting invoices still from cominex, should I worry about it at all?
Also, how can I get a refund, my server was never even set up.... I ordered a day or two before it closed.

I've just been replying to the emails telling them to get ****ed.\
And you probably won't get a refund, from what it seems, Cominex is just a crappy high school business.

Not sure how you paid these whack jobs but open a paypal dispute if you used paypal and/or contact your bank to do a chargeback. Chargebacks are usually found in favor of the consumer unless the seller has great proof services/product was provided.

I've been thinking of selling my own minecraft servers to the public, I have my own dedicated server, but to do so I'd need some kind of control panel for my clients, I have TCAdmin if it's possible to use that for MC servers.
You guys can dispute your orders if you used paypal. This is illegal and they still have the stock up. They are offering servers they don't have which is illegal. I suggest all to dispute your transactions. Paypal should close his account.
I think some sort of legal action needs to be taken against these guys.

Did you read a single post in here?
Is there anyone else who hosts in Australia?
