I'm really tired of people saying Herobrine is real, it was a cool story until the idiots decided to make it into a spam post.
Here's my solution. If Herobrine is real, post a video of him, with proof that you are not in multiplayer (bring up the pause menu to show that a "Disconnect" button is not present) then in the same video, while in the game bring up your minecraft.jar file to show that no mods are present (just gives us a quick look at the files in it). This video must contain footage of him for atleast 2 minutes, this way we can identify if this is just a reskinned mob by its behavior. Also you must attempt to interact with this "Herobrine" mob, ie. try to hurt it.
Also, all items, ingame mobs, and vegetation must be displayed in the video. Failure to meet ANY of these requirements will result in the utter disregarding of your submission.
Until the above criteria are filled Herobrine is ruled "Non-existent". Link this post to newcomers inquiring about Herobrine. If a video meeting these criteria is posted I will review it and update the status accordingly, if any viewer feels that the video is fake, submit your reasons, and I will review the video again with your abjections in mind, and seek out the flaws you feel are present.
No, I'm serious. I just want the flood of Herobrine topics to stop, so I thought that this would be an alternative, to just cut the crap, and just say whether or not he exists. And if anyone says he exists they can be ignored if they have no credible evidence.
The problem with that solution is that anyone can fake a video, such as making a multi-player video look like it was taken in single-player mode.
The real solution would be for one of the many mod developers that have dug into the minecraft code to show some conclusive proof that there is code specifically for Herobrine. And I am not talking about finding a variable or two -- I am talking real code that could only be used to implement Herobrine. If something like that could be found by one developer, then it could be verified by other developers.

Because, obviously, making a thread on a topic to help make the very same topic stop appearing always works.

To OP: I have an idea as well, it has to be a video with default textures and you have to show all items in the game with the default texture.

Talent didn't go anywhere, it just gets lost in all the noise. You have to find it.

(Didn't bother to quote the rest of your post, because it wasn't exactly what I was responding too.)
Okay, I'm a sarcastic person. I also have a personal saying about these kind of things. The amount of noise needed to stop the racket is generally worse than the initial noise. In other words, if people just stopped making threads on the guy, maybe we could have one thread about him, and be done with it. It was necessary to make this thread, as it wouldn't work in any of the other topics, but the fact that people don't search before posting is the main problem.
TL;DR: You can't stop people making new threads about him. Plus you will always have the occasional poster who says he is real, so there is no credible solution to this problem.
You will never succeed. Some people just like the Herobrine mythos, and you can't get them not to.
Oh, and I added Herobrine to my friends list. Just so you know.
Me too! I also laughed so hard when that dude made an account that was Herobrine spelled backward, and said "Continue." Anyway, I think Herobrine should be added into the game, then the Herobrine madness will have reason.
Do YOU know that Herobrine doesn't exist? Ok then. So what does it matter if some dumb noob retard believes it? Let him/her. People are just having fun with it. Trollers gonna troll. Anyone stupid enough to believe there is a ghost in the game that kills you can just have fun believing it. Anyone who pretends like they are stupid enough to believe it can just have fun pretending like they believe it.
In the long run, you know it doesn't exist, so be happy and move the f*** on.

I like that idea, I'm going to update the informational post.

SERIOUS BUSINESS
Especially when it comes to memes.
Notch may be all-know, but he is also all-trolling.
.
Not quite. Take 4 pixels out of the char skin in mob. Preferably, 2 out of each eye. I'm sure the game could alter a skin that TINY bit when in-use.
