I like the nether, its a fun place to go get some pig meat and have a challenge at the same time.
Though I was not happy on the day of the update and a pigman killed me. Then the inventory bug made me lost all my stuff and I kept getting spawn killed by that pigman in the nether. Curse you pigman!
The ghasts are fun though, I thought like 5 spawned together but they were only 1x1 not big huge floating marhmallows that fire missles from there mouths.
Fun indeeed.
Am I the only one that thought the nether, the main feature of the update, was a major letdown?
I think zombie pigmen are the worst part. They are relatively easy to kill, and cooked bacon makes survival even easier. Ghasts are fun though. But I was expecting more ass kicking, block destroying, fast moving, etc mobs. I honestly feel safer in the nether then I do in the normal world (at night).
However, I have no reason to go to the nether. Only thing remotely interesting in there is the slowsand (it combines nicely with cactus ^.^), and I guess in some scenarios the lightstone would be useful too. But lightstone is so inefficient! The bloodstone is nice because it never stops burning, but logs do the same thing for the most part. And there's always the fast travel purpose, but I walk a decent distance and I end up half way across the damn world. Not fun.
Hell should feel more like endgame content. I shouldnt be safe behind my glass wall. I want ghasts to spew explosives that can destroy more than bloodstone, and I want rare ores that are found in hell that I can do fancy things with, And I want more mobs.Namely hell creepers. They blow up even if you kill them. And they fly. And there big. And red.
So uh, tl;dr, hell isnt scary, hell isnt useful
As has been said time and time again in so many threads like these.......
This is ALPHA. So there are many more things to come both in Nether and real world I'm sure.
Guess Notch shouldn't had updated the game. Since that just made you dissapointed that he did. I'm sorry man, but what's the big deal. "The Nether sucks." Compared to what? No Nether? Yes, yes, yes the Nether should be harder but all your saying is that it's not hard YET.
It's still Alpha. There's still updates. Hell will get better.
We still got the latern update. Don't we?

Bellow statement is true.
Above statement is false.
Honestly, I swear thousands of people joined just to complain about this, because before we knew ghasts existed and before pigmen existed at all we had knowledge of a strange dimension, in which we could place portals close to eachother and they would be far away in real life, but it would be dangerous. We would be thrilled at this "fast travel" system, and when it was released it wasn't finished. And still we marvel at it; it's new, it's a herald of the days when it will work, and now it's useful for blocks and materials.

And so far, I'm liking it.
