OK so I went into the Nether and walked quite a ways and then made another portal out now i went exploring here but after a while decided to run a cartograph of my map.
you can see the gray area in the middle. Well I know I have explored there and there are some really amazing mountain ranges, but on the cartograph it shows as solid rock.
Believe it or not that gray area is the nether and since the nether has adminium on top as well as the bottom you just see the gray surface. So anyway the old cartograph doesnt work on worlds where you've visited the nether.

Mining with your sis might be fun, but in the future use a pickaxe. It's more efficient and humane that way.

oh wow I was thinking it might be but then I thought it couldn't be or I would see it when I was playing
I experienced a very similiar thing just a minute ago.
I Cartographed my map after walking for a while, i spawned a few new chunks, then i looked at the picture and my main area, where my base is, is apparently cover in sand.
Not completely, a few random chunks arent covered, but otherwise sand.
Also, the new chunks i spawned happened to be a desert, coincidence?
