Do you know what they show on iCarly, one of the most popular kids shows today? Breasts and sex.
when did Carly get naked and have sex with people? i dont remember that episode
or was it Sam?[/quote]
In the first episode and a few other ones they mention boobs quite a bit. And in one episode Carly says 'look, the squirrels are bumping and wrestling each other' and spencer said 'they're not wrestling'. Sex reference is obvious. It happens a couple of time.
And all the time they mention 'sexy' and 'retarded' and gross stuff.
Don't judge me, I don't watch this, my 12 year old brother does but I sometimes watch with him
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
I was just messing with you, I personally think that people need to stop getting offended by sex and blood. I mean, this is real life, not a fantasy land where nothing goes wrong. The blood river idea sounds pretty epic, and once mods get going, they should replace the lava in the Nether with blood.
Look in the FACTS thread and see that Notch said that it is called red mossy cobblestone.

Kids play this game..... No rivers of blood please.
Wow....do you have any idea what kids are exposed to today?
Do you think 5 year olds will play this game? Do you think little kids have the patience to play this game? This isn't lego. Lego gives the resources to the kids in the beginning. In this you have to work for the resources. No kids have the patience for this. I doubt anyone below 13-14 plays this game, don't fool yourself.
Kids these days (And I am/was one. I'm 16) are exposed to so much gore and blood that 8 bit blood would to NOTHING to them. These are the same kids that play Halo, COD and GOW, and play games that involve blood. This is the 2010s, not the 1960s. Kids aren't as 'innocent' now.
This is a great idea. The nether is basically hell and pools of blood would make it creepier and interesting.
I'm under 13 and I'm fine with all components of Minecraft. I'm also fine with gore, anyway Notch should just make it red water and people can mod it to blood if they so desperately want it. It's like with the pigmen, Notch at some stage changed them to non-gory and people were fine with that to just mod it back.

Talent didn't go anywhere, it just gets lost in all the noise. You have to find it.
Just because kids are exposed to gore and sex and violence, doesn't mean that it's a go-ahead to do it more.
You'd be a fool to think that blood, either as a liquid or on a pigman graphic would make Minecraft creepier and interesting or epic or good. Blood is worthless to Minecraft. Blood shouldn't be in Minecraft for aesthetic purposes. What would adding blood do for the game's flavor and theme? Just add a bit of gore for the purpose of being scarier? You have people on here getting scared out of their minds by the hiss of a creeper and the screams of Ghasts. Would you be scared more of a darker-red lava then the chatter and squeels of enemies? Would the pigmen actually be scarier if they shown a bit of blood? No, absolutely not. People are becoming more and more desensitized by blood and gore, just watch any 'horror' movie made these days like Saw or something. And the graphics in those movies or games that have blood and gore attempt to make it as real as possible. Have you seen minecraft graphics? How on earth can you obtain a fright from pixel blood?
What makes horror and things scary? It's the unknown, what you can't see. The wondering where an enemy mob is, has three billion times more fright then seeing it, and seeing it pop out of the corner of the map is three billion more times the fright then seeing it's got a scattering of red pixels representing blood.
Having no blood is an aesthetic choice by Notch, just like having no religious symbolism by naming the Nether "Hell". If you want your blood, then you can make or request a custom skin, and you'll have your Blood, but it's ridiculous to suggest that blood should be canon to the base game. And yes, i'm mad. It does frustrate me that blood and gore seems to be what everyone requires and thinks would advance a game component that is meant to be scary.
The fact that you actually know what happens in that show (meaning you watch it) says a lot about the maturity levels of these forums...
Ad hominem attacks show even more maturity.
FYI, I know those shows too because I watch them with my kids, something that any good parents should do. And kantk2010is perfectly right. Hell and blood rivers bothers them less than it does the "mature" elements of this forum.
Maybe blackwater that spawns in rare rivers, and swimming in it gives you temporary armor, a la the myth of Achilles.
I like how, instead of sharing some antiquated belief, you make a constructive suggestion without blatantly trying to have it your way.
That's actually a brilliant idea, better than blood if only because blood would look like lava and the Hell world is all red already. Black waters, maybe with a shine, would look amazing while being scary. And using it for armor bonuses is even better!
666 douchebag. being "evil" or thinking evil thoughts isn't cool at all. makes you seem like a sad 14 year old fantasy geek, thinking depressed thoughts cause of a broken irl life. now resume your childrens games. diablos got blood rivers, graphics ain't your problem apperantly. GOGO!
I think having Blood is a good alternative to water in the Nether. I think it should act the same, all except in can't put out lava / fires. That way people that wish to colonize the Nether and grow crops will be allowed to do so.
This game would scare any immature kid off long before they reached the Nether to witness the blood rivers. After their first encounter with a and receiving a [>>-i>] directly in the they probably would realize the game isn't for them.
