I am a little upset about the losing all stuff whenever you die deal but I think worst of all is the fact that leaves no longer disappear once the trunk is gone. As someone who dislikes things floating around in the middle of the air this is bugging me to no end. :sad.gif:
I really hope this is fixed sometime soon

Well, after enjoying Minecraft for a long time I finally broke down and contributed back: exactly one adventure map. TRY IT NOW! YAY! Fall of Kingdoms
I think the most disappointing thing so far is the forums. They erased the last small particle I held out for the human race. I hope after we're all dead of the stupid that the bugs do a better job of it. ;__________;

Every time I come to these forums, I think more and more that I'm the only person who plays Minecraft normally.
Every time I come to these forums, I think more and more that there is no such thing as playing Minecraft normally.
Some of these bugs will probably be considered a quick fix. But Notch is taking a couple of days off, so just burn the leaves until then, and don't carry all of your valuables with you at all times. You don't keep the entire contents of your bank account in your wallet in small, unmarked bills, do you? Stash that stuff.
Most disappointing thing is that there are more bugs than upgrades with the update. I totally understand that bugs are to be expected. I said before the update came out that it'd be a cess pool full of 'em. But the issue isn't so much in the bugs, as it is in the month or more it will take for Notch to fix.
That's assuming he bothers to fix them as his first priority, rather than going on adding more additions that add more bugs.
This is why he should add stuff every week, rather than wait for lump sums. Small additions add only small bugs that are easily fixed in small amounts of time. You don't mold a vase out of clay by punching a hole in the middle and going "Done! Time to smooth out the edges!"... You use the wheel thing to spin the block around, and slowly shape and mold it, inside and out, to get it just right.
Get back to the Friday updates Notch, whether they're "secret" anymore or not. Failing that, hire a testing team in-house to fix at least the major bugs prior to the needless large sum updates.
I am only dissapointed about the bugs, everything else I love and the bugs will be gone soon anyway, so win/win!

This is exactly where the problem lies. You seem to think we should all play peaceful or hard mode. Well to tell you the truth, your definition of a challenge is not the same as mine. There IS a middle ground which many players fit into.
This, so far, is the most reasonable "dissappointed" thread about the update. Yes, the leaves not disappearing when the trunk is removed it a bit frustrating for now, but in the end, the sacrifices were worth it in my opinion.

I'm sorry if i come off as an asshole with this reply but that analogy doesn't make a whole lot of sense here with the current situation.
I mean yeah, you shouldnt bring all your gold, diamond, iron, and redstone with you. But if your gonna go mine in a game called minecraft, you need a few picks right? And if your gonna get ambushed by creepers or monsters, your gonna need a sword and maybe a bow, right? And you might expect armor to work, so your gonna wear that right? Not to mention all the other tools helpful for on the go.
That easily makes up 80-90% of the important things you strive for in Minecraft, even more so when they are higher tiered (diamond, anyone?). I think its a bit unfair to mark it off as us being too neglectful to whats in our inventories when most of the things in the inventory are things you actively need for most of the game.
(sorry if this seems like a rant. Coming from a victim who lost their diamond armor, diamond tools and obsidian to a creeper who bypassed 100% durable diamond armor and full health to 1 hit kill )

Burning the leaves is not such a good idea if you're in a forest biome... I'm afraid I learned that the hard way.
Well, I actually kinda expected it, but oh well.

Unfortunately armor doesn't seem to reduce damage, which is another bug I dislike. So, for now, you can leave that behind. So what you're really bringing with you is about 50% of the most important things you strive for in Minecraft.
(I'm also not trying to rant, just making conversation!) :biggrin.gif:

That information, along with the original bugs would have been very helpful Had i seen it before i started to play today.
Sadly, I must wave goodbye to all my diamond posessions, I will miss you fondly
Yes, it definitely is unfortunate to lose diamond. :sad.gif: But, hopefully there will be more to come.
Yeah, Im thinking about just going back to the last time I backed up my world, at least then all i will have to do is remake a minecart track and set up obsidian gates. Kind of holding off until the fix is released though.

Maybe you should go to the backup. :/ Notch is taking a well deserved break (just a few days) or at least that is what he said. Who knows though, he could still be working on releasing the lanterns. I'm not sure if releasing the fixes are his top priority seeing as he said (@notch) "The inventory loss on death is a bug! But let's just pretend it's extra difficulty for halloween!". But like I said, who knows.
I really hope this is fixed sometime soon

My humble LPs can be found here.
all you gotta do is click that picture
Other than that it's all thumbs up.
People are unsurprisingly impatient.

You also don't make a game by molding a vase
