How many times do you go outside and see perfect seamless bright green grass?
Every day during the summer.
Really? Because normally around here that's certainty not the case. Do you live in a rural area? I somehow doubt it.
The Garden State, rural area thereof.
Also, why am I getting called a douche? I'm accused of whining, and then get called a douche, without ever having been mean to anyone :/

In the beginning, Notch created the Nether and the Earth, and in it he made a man of sand and called him Steve. Notch made Steve strong so that he may punch wood, and lo, Steve was to have dominion over all square things.
Yeah, Notch really ****ed up the grass and foliage. It looks hideous. One of the nicest things about MineCraft, that vibrant, beautiful landscape, has been totally ruined by this unnatural, cheap looking color variation. None of the colors work together, and they're all flat and bland now. It just looks terrible. I actually just stopped playing earlier because I suddenly just didn't want to build or explore anymore. My MineCraft world just suddenly stopped being interesting. In fact, it's just really hard to look at.
I just went for a camping trip in the real world. I saw different trees in the woods, and I thought this was hideous! So I just stopped living my life, and went to an hero.

Because there's a difference between calmly and rationally stating your issues with the current version of the alpha of this game and laying down on your belly, pounding your fists, kicking your feet and screaming obscenities, and what you did on this thread is much more akin to the latter than the former.
I know that was my opinion the instant I read your initial post on this thread-- I just didn't bother to respond to say so, since I thought (and think) that doing so wouldn't accomplish anything other than add to the unnecessary hostility and anger that's weighing down this board. But since you're now asking, I'm answering.
And this is really a statement to lots of people on this board-- it's just, perforce, presented in the form of a response to a single post: criticism is necessary and welcome-- tantrums are irritating and pointless. There are, have been and will be lots of problems with this game-- it's an alpha, and that's the nature of an alpha. We can help make it into something great by offering useful criticism. We accomplish nothing by throwing a public tantrum other than managing to make ourselves look like asses.

Whoa, harsh dude.... I think it looks nice, Notch added some realistic coloring to the grass/trees. I think the original grass/tree shades of green were hideous.
If you don't like it, download a texture pack or God forbid, make your own only changing the leaf/grass color. It takes five minutes.

Is that a creeper in your pants, or are you just happy to sssee me?
The grass variation would look a lot better if Notch would add some different plants to the game, such as shrubs or something. Also mixing up the tree generator a little bit to allow pine trees, as seen here: viewtopic.php?t=26733
Some small changes such as these would go a long way into making all the Biomes a little more interesting and worth looking at. Though I'm sure Notch has tons of plans to expand Biomes as the year goes on, baby steps as they say and he already did the most difficult part.
No, it looks completely plastic and unnatural. Some of the browns look right, but the greens are way the **** off, making everything look like plastic Army Men, where as before it looked more like lush, living grass.
Really?
I'm not arguing with you on the "grass is ruined/improved" debate. Your opinion is yours. If you don't like it, fair enough
But natural-looking? The old minecraft grass colour was pleasing, but it certainly wasn't natural. It was a pale lime green. Grass is not pale lime green. Unless you live in some strange place with REALLY brightly-coloured grass.
Again, fair enough you don't like it, but I don't understand why you thought the old grass was more realistic
I'm not saying the color of grass in pre-biome MineCraft was 100% realistic, but it was much more realistic than the color he went with here.

It comes off in the way you present yourself.
Cussing a lot and being an all around asshat just implies douchebaggery.
