I noticed on my save that while the colours of grass ahve changed the little side part of it where it creeps over the edge of the block is still the original green colour in al the biomes i have seen (except snowy/arctic)
Yeah, Notch really ****ed up the grass and foliage. It looks hideous. One of the nicest things about MineCraft, that vibrant, beautiful landscape, has been totally ruined by this unnatural, cheap looking color variation. None of the colors work together, and they're all flat and bland now. It just looks terrible. I actually just stopped playing earlier because I suddenly just didn't want to build or explore anymore. My MineCraft world just suddenly stopped being interesting. In fact, it's just really hard to look at.

In the beginning, Notch created the Nether and the Earth, and in it he made a man of sand and called him Steve. Notch made Steve strong so that he may punch wood, and lo, Steve was to have dominion over all square things.

oh god, another typical complaint/bitching. And i dunno what you're talking about, there's nothing wrong or ****ed up with the grass and environment. It looks natural now, and it's NORMAL.
If u don't like it, there are always texture packs. ELSE, revert back to v1.1.2, it's that simple. I'm sick of reading through topics in the halloween update section where ppl complain about their saves and their items disappearing and blaming this and that. It's called BACKING UP ur saves and previous minecraft builds/versions, and easily revert back to them whenever you want. You sound like as if it's Notch's fault for adding an update that we should be thankful about, and the fact that u couldn't play or lost interest is coz of him, when u clearly can stop bitching and just go back to v1.1.2 and enjoy the game as u did.
That aside......to answer the OP, that's biomes, i dunno y u had it before u updated but maybe the previous minecraft versions have always had it, just not fully implemented or finished?? Anyway with the new update with proper biomes now, u obviously get those depending on the area ur at, some places are deserts where it's obviously dry, so the grass & trees look dried up in those areas. Again, this is NATURAL and i've had it in my game and enjoyed it. Also, places around rivers or lakes look more damp and moist.

Must suck to be you then, I had the exact opposite reaction to the first world I generated.

Oh, boo hoo. The colors aren't bright enough for the big baby so he's gonna quit.

I think his problems may be fixed with, oh i don't know, a texture pack?

No, it looks completely plastic and unnatural. Some of the browns look right, but the greens are way the **** off, making everything look like plastic Army Men, where as before it looked more like lush, living grass.
If u don't like it, there are always texture packs.
I don't like the idea of using texture packs, let alone having to rely on them because Notch doesn't know how to manage the art direction.
ELSE, revert back to v1.1.2, it's that simple.
Again, no. I'm not reverting back to anything, nor should I have to. The look of the game should not have been ****ed up with the updates, they should be improved.
I'm sick of reading through topics in the halloween update section where ppl complain about their saves and their items disappearing and blaming this and that. It's called BACKING UP ur saves and previous minecraft builds/versions, and easily revert back to them whenever you want.
What? I do back all my **** up. Stop making assumptions. As for "backing up previous minecraft builds/versions", who the **** would have expected an update from the developers to make the game look worse? I shouldn't have to worry about that.
You sound like as if it's Notch's fault for adding an update
It is Notch's fault. He's the one who changed the look from beautiful, alive, lush green to this plastic, unnatural looking glob. I'm glad he added the good stuff, but bothered with the fact that he virtually ruined the look of the game.
that we should be thankful about, and the fact that u couldn't play or lost interest is coz of him, when u clearly can stop bitching and just go back to v1.1.2 and enjoy the game as u did.
Again, **** that. I paid for the game, and therefore paid for its updates. I'd rather the developers not **** it up.

Again, it does not look natural at all.
And even if it did, that still wouldn't mean it looked good (which, in most areas, it clearly does not).

Well, Zahn, you should calm down. Really. The pixel artist will be joining the company soon, so the art style will change soon enough. I' m certain that he is going to retexture everything in the game and make it look better.
And, this is a game in development. Most updates will not work 100%. You should expect this. We are the testers, after all. We are the ones that figure out the bugs so that he can fix them.

How many times do you go outside and see perfect seamless bright green grass?

Boy, this Zahn fellow sounds like a real douche...
To the left, it's green until it reaches a nearby hill, then it goes towards the ocean becoming progressively browner.
Yet right there it's bright and vibrant, until it gets to my house, then it goes back to brownish...
Just wondering what causes this...Kinda odd having one random patch of bright green...
Biomes, Diffrent Biomes that is all
Negative, I've had it for a week before biomes.

So you mean affirmative. Not negative.
Edit: read it wrong.
Boy, this Zahn fellow sounds like a real douche...
No, me means negative. Post-Biome save would be after the patch.
If he had said PRE-Biome save, then yes, affirmative would have been correct.
