I'm preparing to be utterly dissatisfied with the update by readying Dragon Age: Origins and Awakening, along with all the various dlcs, so that I will still have recreation after putting MC in its final resting place and having a moment of silence at its death after being updated for the nubs. :oP
On a somewhat slightly more serious note, I'm preparing to spend my time fishing in MC, and keeping track of time with my shiny new watch. Couldn't care less about the other updates, as I'll be fishing from my mid-air floating fortress pond. :ohmy.gif:)
Seems like a lot of people are preparing their bases, stacking torches and a lot of stuff. Me, I've stopped playing for the time being.
There is just no point in playing Survival Single Player now, when I will have to start a new world after the update anyway. You guys can play with your lanterns, while I go spelunking in Hell to get to all my cool Biome-bases :biggrin.gif:
That is true. ABSOLUTELY true.
I just can't play now, i don't know why. I set up a world where i am doing redstone + minecart experiments, but im not actually playing the game.
I don't like the idea of building something i know i shall delete in the near future!

Thanks, voicelessbard for the great avatar and sig! (search him in the MC forums)
I made a fishing rod and am farming torches. I will also keep one save I currently have and make a new one maybe.
I don't think it's cheating to stock up on torches, everyone would be doing that anyway, or they would stock up on flint and steel, and then when the lanterns come, all hell would break loose. Oh, and the players would rage on the forums. (I caught myself on that pun.) Everyone would be twice as angry about all that work for nothing, you only get so many materials in the game. Seems only fair to give everyone a heads-up with something like this.
Oh, and for preparations, I'm keeping my fingers crossed teleports will work without needing to go through hell just to make them work. Being able to link two locations together and fast travel through them would be incredibly convenient if you had the means.
I'm not gonna do jack until the update is out. I'm just running around jerking off tree's and whatnot while waiting. Then, when the update is out, I'll start a new world. I'm hoping for a big multiplayer fix so I can just log onto my server and play it like the 1player.
I'm playing the game. After the update, I'll play the game.
I've got lots of worlds (a couple dozen at last count) and I play whichever one I'm in the mood for at the moment, or I start another one if that's what I'm in the mood for. And I'll do the same after the update. If it screws with some of the worlds (possible I guess, but certainly doubtful)-- that's okay. I've got others, and I can always make more.
Funny that some people are hoarding torches.. hope they know that old saves won't get most of the updates, like biomes and portals until they explore new chunks, which for most worlds is FAR away.
Once the update comes out I'll delete my saves and start over. I don't mind losing work, tis a fun game to start over in, always new **** to explore. I'm personally just playing like normal for now, enjoying the last few days of the current saves.
I'll delete every world I have about a week prior to the release of the update. At that point I will start a world that I will play for the entire week with the sole purpose of making torches and generating as little new world as possible so I can get more biomes. This world will be there if the crafting recipe for lanterns makes it almost completely impossible to get started and secure permanent light. But of course, I'll also start a brand new file when the update comes out.
