Well why not?
Lets just remove zombies and spiders and also skeletons.Oh also the ghasts as they make their appearance in Lovecraft's novel.Oh not to forget the slimes.
Thats leaves us with the lovely and adorable creepers.
You can also remove creepers, worms had the kamikaze long before minecraft :smile.gif:
So muncher, any ideas on a new and original enemy?
Yea i do.
Gargoyle- can jump 7-8 blocks high then glide down much like chickens. When light hits them they turn to stone.
A false light mob.
Gives off false light to lure you in then attacks.
Bulls- mobs that follow cows and attack you when you attack the cows.
Rams- same as bulls just for sheep.
My real problem with the weeping angel is It just seems like a bad game mechanic. I don't have a problem with the unoriginality (I know i said that in my first post but I wasn't thinking). Just it seems stupid and cliche to me.

Legal and copywrong issues aside, I think the main issues with having Weeping Angels (or some other blink-and-you-die type mob) is just that: how do you implement Stop Looking At It And You Dead in a game? I saw a Gmod video a few years back of how someone scripted a Companion Cube to move when (all?) players are turned away, stop moving when one or more players are looking (this part was imperfect), and backstab any player it touched. I'm not sure how this could be implemented, or if it's even possible in Java. I know it's not possible in Lua (or at least Roblox Lua), objects don't have an isVisibleToCamera trigger.
And how do you handle it in SMP, having to factor in lag? Do you count the actual player camera when it goes into 3rd person (like how the audience counted as an observer in Who), or just what Mine-Dude can see (the head's lookVector or Java equivalent)?
Also, I think there are at least a few cases where TNT can remove Obsidian. You either have to have a metric [REDACTED] of it, or encase a single TNT completely on all sides, edges, and corners with Obsidian. Fully enclosed TNT will destroy a perfect 3x3x3 cube regardless of material strength (i.e. it'll blow the same size hole in Gravel as it will Smoothstone, but only if it's COMPLETELY enclosed. Miss even a corner, and it's the usual blast-radius calculations.), except for Adminium which has a no-destroy-EVER attribute.
P.S. I think the Weeping Angels predate SCP-173. Maybe.

Reminds me so much of Slender man. Slow as molasses when observed, hyper-quick when not.
The reason Slender Man doesn't sneak up behind you and kill you is because he has a plan for you. Isn't it terrifying that he can kill you in an instant, and doesn't even attempt it?
Also, solution to Weeping Angels; Just put a video camera in front of them, or a mirror.

Notice I said I don't really care about originality more about how it wouldn't work in the game.

lol, then you wouldn't be able to win the game ("THE GAME") as long as it keeps spawning and its a flying, 4 damage, 4 health mob (so you can hit KO it) and what the hell would it drop?- a big item that says "notice: the game" so you lose.

WHY YOU LITTLE...
But seriously, here's what you do.
*Find a Weeping Angel Spawner
*Difficulty->Peaceful
*Build mob trap (make ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY SURE there's no holes bigger than WeepingAngel.hitbox)
*Difficulty->Not Peaceful
*Put some kinda non-translucent barrier between you and the trap
*Weeping Angels aren't observed->not obsidian->drown->you get whatever they drop
*tostring(undefined_plot_gap);
*internets.invokeMeme(StepThreeProfit);

Yeah, I know. I was mainly responding to your original post, however, in which you definitely did care about the originality. I know you may have changed your view since then, in which case I have no quarrel.
Forget this weeping angel ********
Make a mob that freezes when you see and moves when you are turned and teleports you on touch
Simple as that.No more copyright issues or whatever.

Ghast,from what information we have about them can be characterized as dragons too i.e if you did some research
the only thing that makes them different from dragon is the name so that makes my point valid(which you would again fail to see)

DnD has Gargoyles and Will o' Wisps.
IRL has Bulls and Rams.

Herobrine is a weeping angel crossed with slenderman.
He will be included in the update.
We will all burn.

Excuse me, I think I'm gonna shove you down my sig.
but to answer the op, YES YES YES and **** EVERYWHERE.
Sounds like Mario's boo.
Unfortunately I'm not sure how that'd work in multiplayer, since It'd need to do a line of sight check from itself to each player. ;c
