I don't think there is anything special about that floating block. I did some retouching and the texture looks just like the "new texture" that Notch posted on his blog, under the screenshot.
What do you all think?
I cried a single tear of joy. Thats a damn high amount of work for a few days. I thought it would look like the old indev Hell theme on the floating setting,
it's so sweet if you just start off with your house stuck in mid air and barely any way to reach land :tongue.gif:
you should be able to make a "Lava Boat", it could be a boat that you can use on lava. it would have same pattern as normal boat but you would use Cobblestone instead.

i think obsidean should be used
Yeah, I think obsidian would be better, at least make it somewhat difficult to create.
some one should make the 'hot' and 'cold' hell terrains when notch releases this update. keep everything the same just make hell blocks realy bright red/blue. also in hell there should be a single randomly spwaned castle (as opposed to the dungeons in the real world) that contains a room of solid diamond, filled with chests that are filled with diamond. and in that castle there is one mob to protect the diamond, Notch himself! able to do anything the player can do, with 3 times the heath and armour, undefetable in combat, un escapable, the only way to stop him from distroying you is to find herobrine and make them meet then watch as the two minecrafting imortals battle it out for all eternity!
If I find a way to send a cart through a portal I will be happy.

or
my post is prolly to late but my computer is actin wierd so i went ahead and posted this anyway :tongue.gif:
Afterwards they will spontaneously combust and create a green portal that has their face within it.. BRILLIANT!
This is how Hell would look with more red (this was posted by Shwat a couple days ago):
But, wow, does anybody agree with me that Hell should be more red? The second pic makes the magma look really hot!
I do.
I prefer a more blue, freezing like all-****ing-hell hell.
But yeah, hell should look much more hot.
Hey man, we'll see a "cold" Hell, when Hell freezes over. :smile.gif:

YES. Somebody remembers indev! :3
Personally, it looks nice, but the lava tiles HORRIBLY in those
situations.
- But yeah, this is nothing new. I like that he is adding
hell back into the game, but not Hell itself.

just a thought
digging down to the bedrock and falling threw the abyss is not exactly fast travel.
Sure it is! You get a fast way to your spawn!
I approve.
I disprove.
I love tv.
McGuyver: "Got an image enhancer that can bitmap?" Haha! Don't you love it when Hollywood makes up all these technical terms to sound cool.
