If you can get close enough to one, chuck a saddle on it, and watch out for the rest of its pack. How awesome would riding a raptor in gold armour wielding a diamond sword and screaming your head off charging at a pack of skeletons be?
Minecraft can fulfil this fantasy for me, I just know it.
I'm hoping for the "Weeping Angel" mobs he mentioned in one of the stream interviews, I think it was Brocraft. Monsters that teleport when you're not looking? YES PLEASE.
I heard this as well. I think thats a likely candidate.
This has probably already suggested before, but, Bears!
Bears, Polar bears and Panda Bears.
Bear spawn on the normal 'ol land, Polar bears spawn in snowy regions, and maybe Panda bears spawn near reeds?
why why why is everyone going on and on about enemies?! i mean, i wanna see more peaceful mobs. fighting creepers, slimes, zombies, spiders, skeletons, and spider-riding skeletons is tough enough! i wanna see something that maybe helps you or is neutral. so to get to the point, ghosts might be an addition, or something to use like instead of sheep we get more neutral wolves that you shear for wolf fur which is darket then wool and looks like this about
Notch once mentioned fish and maybe sharks too, but I really think the game needs bats. They would spawn below ground level in groups and have enough AI to fly around without getting stuck. Flying enemies would really make things interesting.

and more annoying... too.. many.. enemies.. *death*
GOLEMS! We need golems that use different elements from the game! Like dirt golems near the surface, rock and steel more underground, and fire near lava! So the deeper you go, the stronger the element!
Yeah, I think golems would fit Minecraft perfectly!
On Ultima Online the golems dropped ores depending on what they were made out of...
I think similar system would be just perfect for Minecraft.
Dirt and sand golems would be weak but the material isn't exactly rare, either.
...on the other hand a golem made out of iron ore would be very tough but drop some iron ores on death.
*imagines Obsidian and Diamond golems*
oh dear...
And they would have specific weaknesses depending on their element. Like dirt and sand would be the weakest, you could easlily kill them with a shovel or something. But rock would have to be killed with a Pick, like wood or higher. Steel would need Steel or higher and so on. But fire on the other hand will need something more creative, You wont be able to kill them with much anything since, well, they're made of fire! So a water bucket or something like that would be the fastest way to "effectively" kill them, or else they will just take longer to kill with just a sword for instance.
But and Obsidian golem! =S I don't know if it would be even sane to make one of those, or it would just be WAY to powerfull!
I can only imagine what would it take to bring one of those down....

THAT is an AWESOME idea, I really hope Notch considers this. They would probably be creepy and hard to fight, but it would be very satisfying to defeat them if they drop ore.
Maybe you could also create golems? That would be great as part of an alchemy update.

Cliff Racers. :PP
Oh god.... god no....
That too would be Awsome! Maybe even Skeletons as well.
Then I can have my Diablo 2 Necromancer army!!

Or you can just domesticate them, then they will follow you and help you fight tough enimies. All you have to do is give them meat. What better way to make Minecraft a more enjoyable game than having pets. =)
At least thats what I think...
I think the new mobs that will be implemented should be reasonably rare, Imagine looking over a big hill into a valley and seeing neutral mobs rabbits wolves bears and such placed periodically and looking really messy. Minecraft needs more ambiance. Like birds, bats and small animals. but these would have to shy away from you.
I think the new mobs implemented should be these:
1. Bears-Extremely rare found in groups of 1
2. Wolves- Fairly common though they tend to stay away from player explored area's and travel in packs. (Can be domesticated?
3. Sharks- Nuff said
4. Rabbits, Very common usually found near flowers. Destroys crops.
5. DRAGONS!- FTW Extremely rare and found in big caves but fairly big and super powerful. (Drops good loot ::smile.gif:
6. Fish- Used for fishing- common
7- Mountain lions- can crouch to half a block high to hide from you- attacks neutral mobs- ambushes- very rare
8-Ambient Tortoises.
9. Afore mentioned golems ^^^
10. Ambient Birds and bats- Bats live in caves and sometimes come out at night and birds fly overhead and nest in trees
11- Sea monsters- live in VERY deep ocean :smile.gif:
12- mountain goats- live at high altitude
13. Sand worms :smile.gif:- Live in 2 block deep sand and burrow, (Desert Biome) Pop out of sand to deal damage to you.
14- Giant earth worms- same as sand worms but rarer and live in dirt(However deep) danger to your mineshafts.
15. Cliff Racers. Not as common as in oblivion but they fly pretty damn high up and can be saddled.
Also the above mentioned mobs should be assorted to biomes and NOT ALL SPAWN AT ONCE OR IN THE SAME AREA:O)

"Right now, there are two groups of gamers in the world: Those who haven't yet heard of Minecraft, and those who are hopelessly, helplessly addicted to it."
I will kill you and Notch if that's implemented.
Assuming there's as much as Morrowind.
This.
Best.
Idea.
Ever.

I am Paco. I am a Penguin. I like tacos.

Wow, laboured much?
I have to agree with the other posters that mentioned golems. The game is perfectly suited for them.
