GOLEMS! We need golems that use different elements from the game! Like dirt golems near the surface, rock and steel more underground, and fire near lava! So the deeper you go, the stronger the element!
There could even be super mob versions. Think "Shadow of the Colossus". Massive creature/terrain things with one specific weakness on it somewhere. You will probably have to climb up on it to find the weak point. Killing it turns it entirely into terrain, which you can mine at your leisure.

Like if I killed an Iron or Rock 'Colossus' and It becomes terrain, I could mine from it and find ores, even diamonds maybe? That could work, but how would it effect things like lag? It would have to be a reasonable size to keep the game from laging up when you encounter one or when you kill it and it becomes terrain?
Its a cool idea though. Golems still have a good chance in this game. =)
1. Bears-Extremely rare found in groups of 1
2. Wolves- Fairly common though they tend to stay away from player explored area's and travel in packs. (Can be domesticated?
3. Sharks- Nuff said
4. Rabbits, Very common usually found near flowers. Destroys crops.
5. DRAGONS!- FTW Extremely rare and found in big caves but fairly big and super powerful. (Drops good loot ::smile.gif:
6. Fish- Used for fishing- common
7- Mountain lions- can crouch to half a block high to hide from you- attacks neutral mobs- ambushes- very rare
8-Ambient Tortoises.
9. Afore mentioned golems ^^^
10. Ambient Birds and bats- Bats live in caves and sometimes come out at night and birds fly overhead and nest in trees
11- Sea monsters- live in VERY deep ocean :smile.gif:
12- mountain goats- live at high altitude
13. Sand worms :smile.gif:- Live in 2 block deep sand and burrow, (Desert Biome) Pop out of sand to deal damage to you.
14- Giant earth worms- same as sand worms but rarer and live in dirt(However deep) danger to your mineshafts.
15. Cliff Racers. Not as common as in oblivion but they fly pretty damn high up and can be saddled.
All success.

People who build absolutely stunning objects of fantastic creativity, those who are the leaders in what you can only imagine to accomplish in the infinite possibility that is Minecraft, I applaud you.
Am I mistaken, arnt GOBLINS on the "comming sometime" list?
personaly I would like to see mobs that worked toghter a tiny bit.. you know instead of BEE LINE tactics... though I must admit my RUN AWAY solution can backfire when I run into more mobs.
And did it say new monster or MONSTERS with a "S"?
I'm all for more of any kind, im on my 10th night and other then a couple CREEPERS on the first DAY, I havent seen anything outside my abode, just underground...skelly suprise arrow attack still scares the crap out of me.
I think it will be in the sea, like Notch said (possibly only in the sea). But it would be cool to add some neutral mobs like birds or something special like a mage which will talk to you and tell you some secrets or give you missions :X
Yes we need some human mobs, they could set up bases and villages, you could talk to them trade and missions, or just rape and pillage. personally Id rape and pillage...
I'm hoping for the "Weeping Angel" mobs he mentioned in one of the stream interviews, I think it was Brocraft. Monsters that teleport when you're not looking? YES PLEASE.
When this is implemented, there should be a "Easily scared?" Option, so things like this or Him won't appear in game,
I'd love to see some sort of mob you can capture and keep as pets. Maybe slime pets. :3
I think I heard somewhere that Notch was thinking about adding hamsters though, that could be interesting. :biggrin.gif:

I wouldn't pee my pants.
I would explode them with a fiery explosion of ****.
Oh god, easily scared mode please.
PLEASE?!?!?
I don't wanna waste my 12.50 on a game I can't play when I could have spent money on Undead DLC for RDR.
If any new mobs, I would ****ing love ANYTHING in the sea, even if it were Herobrine.
Land is just so much creepier, I would have a use for underwater houses if sharks or sea monsters were implemented.
Still, easily scared mode, or not adding anything scary at all.
What's Notch's e-mail?
Notch has recently confirmed that golems will be added in the future! Who knows, perhaps, instead of you searching for diamonds underground, the super strong, giant mass of diamonds finds you! Of course, maybe it will be something else...
What about some kind of cave mob that works like the creeper, but when it explodes, it sends out a (harmless?) shockwave of air that kills all your torches in a wide radius. Imagine exploring a deep cave, then suddenly all your light is put out, and you can't see **** or find your way back. If that's not scary that what is?
I'm hoping for some big worm! Would be ace walking through a cave that you think is ok cause your got lights, then BAM!!! a huge worm jumps out the wall at you!
Keep in mind that mobs will probably have the same visual aesthetic and therefore probably won't have very complicated animations. With that being said, I think creatures such as sharks and bears and golems would work very well and "fit in" with minecraft in its current state without being too jarring.
As much as I'd love to see Dragons.. I can't really picture a boxy dragon being that impressive but I definitely hope theyre able to implement them in a good way.
Also I dig the suggestion about a creature that takes out torches with a gust of air or some other mechanic.. would be awesome. Right now though I dont feel the need to really explore very far from my starting area.. built all kinds of stuff in the local area, dont see a point to travel elsewhere. "Special" mobs or lairs could go a long way in changing that.. for the better, imho.
all golems are the same size, bigger than a skeleton or zombie but smaller then a 4x4 slime. They wouldnt appear as common as other mobs and tougher (material) ones only apear in caves. They always spawn alone, and alf as likely to spawn as other 'common' mobs.
Golems come in varied forms, namely notable materials.
All golems are simaler in size and shape, they are bulky with big arms and their "head" is inside of its body half way and is more like a wide stump.
Golems made of rarer materials spawn only at when those respective materials spawn.
Their should be 6 'tiers' of golem:
T1-dirt
dirt golems are basically slightly stronger zombies
T2-gold
Gold golems have high health, but move very slow and have weak attacks.
T3-stone
Stone golems are moderate in health, and have moderate attacks. They have a light ranged attack.
T4-iron
Iron goloms have high health and good attacks, they can break though thinner (1-3 blocks) stone walls to get to you[all golems after this one also can do this].
T5-obsidian
Obsidian golems have very high health and move at a good speed, and is immune to lava, walking on like its land. Their projectile attack is not shot much, but deal high damage. Their melee attack isnt that harmful. They only spawn in large pools of lava.
T6-diamond
Diamond golems have extreme health, and a very deadly dangerous elee attack with shooting fast moving projectiles at a fast rate that are moderatly dangerous. They shoot salvos of 10 of their attack, and then chase you at a fast speed. They are immobile while shooting. This is the most dangerous golem, and the rarest!

If Notch says this mob will make the game harder, that leaves us with two types of mobs:
Ones that can fly, to get over our defenses...or one that can destroy them. Either way, I am shitting my pants when my fences prove ineffective.
