Im just want to know.
I dont have a problem with glass breaking, but if lanterns have glass they shouldn't break when picked up imo.
Because atm i have tons of torches and i want to make them neater. But at the moment im busy with multiple large scale building projects. And if i go to fix them later i dont want to have to make a whole batch of thousands of them.
IMHO, if lanterns break when you attempt to pick them up, the game is essentially broken. You can't possibly have your only source of permanent light be that fragile, especially considering how expensive they will be to have in the first place in comparison to torches.
It'll be bad enough if lanterns aren't stackable. That alone may be game breaking.

They wont stack?...
Oh there goes my cave hunting days.. ohwait. THere already gone.
The deeper you get the more torches you need. so instead of needing a few hundred for a decent cave, a need a few THOUSAND...
But who knows, might not be to much of a difference.

My humble LPs can be found here.
